Truck keeps stalling in drive and reverse. The truck will only run good if its in neutral. The rpms just drop suddenly, but the truck is able to start right back up with no problem. Truck also has had throttle body replaced along with O2 sensors. The engine light keeps coming on and sometimes the engine light would flash for a period of time.

Driving down the road and the truck just stalls out loose all power and controling is very hard to steer.
Vehicle stalls at low speed acceleration or stopping. Vehicle will stall upon forward movement, which caused my vehicle to stall in an intersection and nearly hit by another vehicle. Vehicle will also stall while stopping sometimes as well.
When I slow down it just stalls out on me . Its always restart.
Was at a complete stop waiting to turn onto my road and when I went to step on the gas nothing,no lights or sound indicating that it had stalled. Read online of the samething happening to others while driving even at slow speeds etc. And it would stall losing power steering and brakes. This needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt or killed. I refuse to drive my truck until I can get something done about it. Dangerous.

My 05 Ram 1500 has now stalled out twice in the 2 months I have had it. The first time I was stuck in rush hour traffic so I was at a stand still but now this time I was turning into a school and the truck stalled and steering wheel locked. . . I almost hit 2 teachers because of this. . . The lights and radio was still on though. . This is a major problem that needs attention before someone gets seriously hurt. .

Over the last few years, I have experienced problems with my 2005 Dodge ram truck. Occasionally when slowing down to a stop light or making a left turn from a stop, the engine will cut off. I immediately turn the ignition off and then back on, and the trucks works perfectly after that. I first attributed it to a stall or bad gas, but now believe it is an ignition switch problem. I have contacted Chrysler regarding this, but they are unwilling to inspect my truck without first charging an exorbitant service fee. I feel this diagnostic fee is very unreasonable, as this defect with the truck is a safety hazard to the drivers around me. I have contacted Chrysler multiples times, and am now escalating this by filing this complaint.
Truck stalls daily. Only stalls when coming to a stop. Once completely stopped the tachometer jolts up and down, making the truck lurch forward, and will sometimes stall completely. Does not happen while driving, or at low speeds, only at complete stop and in drive. If in neutral this does not happen. This is unsafe to lose control of your truck and at times it lurches forward trying to get the correct rpm. I have seen all over the internet how widespread this problem is and Dodge has done nothing about it. Many times I have seen where this has occurred to poeple while driving! this is an automatic transmission, everything checks out fine except this, it has to be a computer problem and needs replaced. I see often where people change many parts, sometimes helping but usually not.
I have a 05 Dodge Ram 1500 that stalls when slowing down to stop or take corners. When it stalls you loss power steering which has cuased me to almost be in mulitple accidents going around corners. This is a major issue and muliple people and model years have had the same issue.
When I slow down, and specifically turn the wheel in either direction, my Dodge will randomly stall. The radio will stay on and the only way I know the truck has stalleld is because I am not going anywhere. Once I put it in neutral it starts right up and takes off. This is extrememely dangerous and has almost caused accidents. Took it to my local Dodge dealership and they have no clue what it could be as they were "unable to duplicate" the problem.
I like many others have a problem with my Dodge 1500 stalling after accelerating or while turning. I bought the truck 2 1/2 years ago with 34000 miles on it and it started doing it right away. . . Probably why the previous owner got rid of it :) yesterday, it left me alongside the road in a terrible rain storm on my way to pick my son up from school. I have taken this 2005 Dodge 1500 out on the air force base for hunting and when we came back to the check station (very rough roads-washboards, potholes, deepsand, etc) my engine was revving up and down. When I got onto the interstate to come home the cruise would not engage, I opened the hood and pressed on all the injector and plug wires and the truck ran smooth and the cruise started working again. Things were fine for a few weeks but then it started stalling/cutting out again. I pressed on the wires and things were fine again. Now yesterday, it stalled coming into a turn. I put it in neutral and it started back up. I went through two stop signs with no problems but when I got up to speed and went about 1 â½ miles, the check gauges light came on. I looked and it says I was running hot. So I pulled over and turned on the heater?the heater blew cold because I haven?t gone far enough for it to heat up yet so I turned the engine off. I sat there for about 5 mins and turn the key until the gauges came on but did not start the engine. It said my engine was just off the cold mark and the check gauges light was gone. I drove the truck home without any further problems. The stalling problem is dangerous since I never know when it will happen and it has happened several times while taking a sharp corner on my street. Dodge, please fix this problem. It could be as simple as a connector wiggling loose.
2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. Stalls when stopping and turning. Engine revs. Truck will stall in traffic without notice. This has happened on at least 10 seperate dates.

He is in the process of having the vehicle inspected to determine the cause of the failure. The failure and current mileages were 63,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated when placing the vehicle in drive or reverse from a cold start, the vehicle would stall and there was an unusual increase in engine rpms. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or inspection of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not contacted. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 59,000 and the current was unknown.
My 2005 Dodge ram has been stalling on the freeway when slowing down in traffic and when comming to stops at intersections. It has been doing this for years. I have had engine lights come on and had mechanics work on it. This problem continues and is very scary. I can not trust to take it on long trips. After googleing on the internet I found that most Dodges have this problem. I will use social media to let my family and friends know that Dodge is not the truck to buy. I can not believe they are not recalling this issue in their trucks some thing needs to be done to correct this issue. Starter will go out if this continues also putting in nutrel will not do the transmission any good,it feels like it is messing up now.
In my truck as well as many other owners of this same truck have faulty oil cooler lines installed on them from Dodge. The specific truck is the 2004-2006 Dodge ram srt-10. One member of the auto forum even had his truck and house completely lost due to fire, and his incident was not isolated.
My 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 black rumble bee truck was stopped at red light as was fixing to make a left turn the truck stumbled as if stalling and then shot off wide open throttle my foot was not on the throttle, in to oncoming traffic I made the turn and avoided hitting any body and slide in to the parking lot where I rolled the truck in the empty lot. The police came up that watched the wreck and said that's what I get for hot rodding the truck I told them I had not and turned the switch back on with truck in park and it went to wide open throttle. They quickly said it was out of my control and called the wreck a mechanical failure. After a two months fight with insurance company I bought the truck back they had totaled the truck it only has 27000 miles on it. I went to hoover and talked with service and the owner finding out that this had happened in several other Chrysler 300s and other ram trucks with the 5. 7 hemi just at his dealer ships (4). Once every thing got settled I started looking at the truck and found the throttle stuck wide open I released the throttle actuator the throttle snapped closed replaced it with a used one truck idles fine scared to move it but idles fine. What can be done about this if anything.
While driving with the air conditioning on when I slowed down to stop behind a stopped vehicle my 05 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab with a v8 stalled out. I had to put the truck into neutral to start it back up & continue going. This has happened so many times while slowing down or stopping that I no longer can keep count. It has also happened when making a turn which caused all loss of power steering & power brakes. So far I have not wrecked when this happens but it scares me or my teenage driver to death. I have reported it several times over several years & nothing is being done. I also know this happens with the 2004 model of Dodge trucks as my nephew own one that I have drove & it happened the only difference in trucks is his 04 has the hemi. And this only happens when the air conditioning is on. I guess someone is going to have to wreck & die before Dodge recalls & fixes the problem. But until then I will keep reporting here & to Dodge.
On my 2005 Dodge ram with the 5. 7 hemi at times will stall at lights I have taken the vehicle to the dealer and they were not able to recreate the concern in 2 days. I went to the dealer and duplicated the concern within 10 miles. The technician told me the transmission fluid was low and added fluid. I drove the vehicle for a day and was stopped at a stop sign, the vehicle lunged forward and stalled. I have requested assistance from dcx and they wanted to flash the pcm. I let them know the pcm was replaced a week earlier for a charging system concern I had. I believe the pcm should have come with the latest software.
This complaint is a continuance of a previous complaint number 10175625 filed 12/08/2006. I have an ongoing problem with my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5. 7l hemi. The vehicle will at times stall when driving down the road. It seems to happen more often when the vehicle is cold and it is cold out side (near freezing). Since I filed my first complaint, I have had additional stalling occurrences with the vehicle. It was picked up from the service department on December 15, 2006. It was driven about 60 miles without incident. On the 16th, I went to the store. As I exited my neighborhood, the vehicle reached about 30 mph and hesitated where it would not accelerate any further for about three seconds and then stalled. I restarted it and continued down the road. When I left the store to come home about five minutes later, the same thing happened but only with a one second hesitation and stalled. I called the service department right away and dropped it off to them the following Monday morning. I have been working with the dealership where I originally purchased the vehicle. Their customer service has been excellent. The service department has not yet been able to duplicate the problem. They have replaced both transmission filters and a crank sensor. This has not fixed the problem. The dealership currently has possession of my vehicle for the third time in two weeks. I have expressed to both the dealership and Chrysler, both verbally and in writing, my sincere concern for the safety of myself and my family. I do not feel that this vehicle is safe to drive until it is fixed. I have asked that if it is not able to be properly diagnosed and fixed, to release me form my lease obligations with Chrysler financial.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving approximately 25 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted and resumed normal operation. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing; however, no trouble codes were detected. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
This was my fathers truck. I was out of the country when he purchased it. Upon his death, I began driving the truck. It was still brand new, by approximately 7 months. In one instance I was driving in saticoy, south on the 118 before going over the bridge. As I got a yellow light, I slowed down and the truck eventually stalled and had no ability to steer. I was in the truck, with my mother, at an intersection and had to immediately restart the vehicle because our lives were in danger due to traffic. Upon restarting the vehicle, I resumed to my destination. On another occasion I arrived to who is now my sister in laws house, located in simon way. In that evening it was my turn to drive to oxnard college. As I pulled out of her driveway, the truck again stalled. I had to restart it again and decided that we would go to school in her vehicle. These two incidences are just a couple of many bad early on experiences with the 2005 Dodge ram truck I had and would go to you guys and complain, and you guys never did anything about it because nothing ever resulted in your diagnostic and would happen to you guys when on one occasion the vehicle was in your possession. Attached see exhibit 1 which shows of a vehicle rental on 12/06/06 when the Dodge truck was in your possession. I precisely recall why I had the stratus rental and it was because crown Dodge had my truck, trying to figure out what was wrong with it. Crown Dodge was billed for the rental. Well, crown Dodge inspected the truck, but the problem continued. Exhibit 2 demonstrates another time that I complained because of the same problem with the vehicle. To date, the Dodge ram truck 1500 continues to stall. My husband uses this vehicle to drive to work. At times he uses this vehicle to take our children out and I am always concerned because of this.

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge ran 1500 slt. While coming to a stop at a stop light or stop sign, or while putting the vehicle into reverse, the vehicle stalled without any warning indications. The vehicle restarted directly after this happened . The driving distance of the vehicle has no impact on when vehicle will stall. The vehicle has been to the dealership approximately seven times since the purchasing date. The dealership could not duplicate the problem and could not repair the vehicle. The manufacturer stated that the contact would have to call the dealership to tow the vehicle directly after it stalled, and directed her to not restart the vehicle. Due to the mileage on the vehicle the dealership will not trade the vehicle. The dealership has the vehicle and was trying to determine the problem at this time. She told the dealer that she would not take the vehicle back until the problem was fixed. Updated 11/16/2005.
