Two problems related to front suspension upper ball joint have been reported for the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The front right upper ball joint of the upper control arm separated while pulling out of a parking lot. The ball joint pulled out of the socket. The tire then layed over and the truck had to be towed.
Turning a corner when the right front tire collapsed resulting in the truck making impact with a curb at approx. 20 mph. There were no physical signs of any failure leading up to this point. Reported incident to the insurance company and they reported is was an upper ball joint failure. Truck is currently being repaired and old parts are available.
