Suspension Noise problems of the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

Two problems related to suspension noise have been reported for the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Suspension Noise problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2020

~tl- the contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. The stated that while driving, and taken a different rout to school, the vehicle whent over five potholes causing damige to the front suspension, the control arm and tie rod. The vehicle was taken to get an alightment and the independent mechanic technician informed the contact that the front suspension, control arm and tie rod needed to be replaced. The contact mention that the vehicle now experiencing a rattling noise while driving since he hit the potholes. The dealer nor manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximatly 180,000. Aw.

2 Suspension Noise problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2015

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving at approximately 65 mph, there was an abnormal noise and the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the pinion nut rear axle and the drive shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v796000 (suspension) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.
