Two problems related to power train driveline have been reported for the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
: the contact stated when hitched up to a trailer, there was a vibration from the drive shaft during acceleration. The vehicle was serviced by an authorized service dealer, who replaced the drive shaft hanger. This helped reduce the vibration, but became worse with continued driving. The vehicle was returned a second time, where a more heavy duty replacement hanger was installed. The vibration continued during acceleration at all speeds, although it was not noticed when the accelerator pedal was not depressed. The manufacturer was not notified.
Vibration at 60mph. Had 2 tires replaced did not help. Dealer put 4 new tires and rims on same problem. Problem is worse when towing trailer. 5 trips to dealer and they say it is normal to have vibration. Vibration is in seat and floorboard all tires ballanced properly they claim this is normal. Have found that this only seems to be a problem with 06 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4s.
