Three problems related to manifold/header/muffler/tail pipe have been reported for the 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Typical bolts sheared off inside the block and an exhaust manifold leak causing a tick. This the 2nd Dodge ram that I have owned. Both have had the exact same problem (my previous truck had I twice(!) while I owned it). If you look at any number of online forums you will see that I am about the millionth person that has had this same problem happen. Literally every single one of these has this problem. Apparently Dodge has released a statement (though I can not confirm) stating that the combination at the exhaust manifold of cast iron, aluminum, and weak bolts makes this happen over & over again. This should be a recall and Dodge should have to fix this.
While driving my vehicle down the road the valve seat dropped out of the head into the cylinder causing catastrophic engine damage the valve cover seal blue off oil poured onto my heated exhaust manifold nearly catching on fire smoking almost causing accidents on the road.
Exhaust manifold bolts are rusting and breaking off leaving exhaust leak at the engine. This is known issue and very common on 5. 7 liter hemi engines. Dodge Ram 1500 problem.
