Me and my husband were driving down the road to go see a friend and all of a sudden the wheel hub assembly broke in half causing us to have to slam on our brakes and keep from crashing. The wheel almost ended up under our truck making the truck look like it was kachowing like lightening mcqueen from the movie cars.

I was driving to work on [xxx] when my rear end locked up and I slid sideways down [xxx]. I was going slower than normal due to slippery road conditions. The mechanic told me it was the pinion nut that froze up and locked up the gears and snapped the drive shaft. If it had been clear roads the truck probably would have flipped over. Driving at highway speed, truck put itself into 4th gear. Pulled over to turn off engine and re-start. Truck would not shift in to "drive". Issue persisted until following day. Now check engine light is on and it must be taken to a service center.

Our 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 recently developed an exhaust manifold leak on the passenger side. It makes a loud rattling noise when the vehicle is cold. The noise goes away once the vehicle has warmed up. From my online research this is apparantly a problem with Dodge rams and I have found many complaints from other owners. I have contacted Dodge but since we are out of warantee we have to pay for repairs. Since this is clearly a problems with their parts and they have had repeated complaints, I'm wondering why Dodge has not issued a recall.
Exhaust manifold bolts break off and the truck develops exhaust leak. . . The truck then has no control of regulating exhaust gases and next you will get a damaged catalytic converter. This will also cause oxygen sensor to change mixture. These bolts are breaking on the engine, on their own. The bolts are too small for a exhaust area bolt. The internet is full of forums about this issue and Dodge has done nothing to address. Model 5. 7 hemi has had issues from 2005 -2012. These bolts can not stand up to the heat and stress for the intended application,.

Recall notice #2 came this week. . . . This recall has been out for almost a year. . . My dealer says there are no parts to fix the recall and does not know when Dodge will send them out. Rear axel pinion shaft nut / shaft spline problem. Why send out a recall w/o a fix in hand or at least scheduled??.
On December 26 I was driving on the highway at about 55 mpg when I heard a loud noise and just after that my back wheels locked up leaving me stick in the middle of the highway at this time I also was pulling a car trailer witch made it a lot more dangerous as a man driving a truck stopped to help us get out of the road a man driving a Honda ran in to the back of the trailer wile I was under the truck tying a strap to pull it out of the way so now we had an accident on our hands. After looking up the truck I found out there was a recall for this part so I called the local Dodge dealer and they said they would not help me because I had purchased the truck in mexico witch sounds like bull to me can u guys help me get my recall on my truck and get it fixed.
I've received numerous recalls about the rear axle pinion nut. I've contacted 3 different dealerships in the area and either the part still isn't available or they just won't return my calls. I have not had an issue yet with the truck and I hope I never do since Dodge won't call me back. This is very frustrating!! apparently, this product failed at some point and now I can't get the part replaced.

Received safety recall m34 NHTSA 12v-474 months ago and still not repaired. Dealer says they don't have parts and will notify me when they are available. Date of recall was January 2013. It appears to me that Chrysler has no intention of making the repair as it has had more than adequate time to acquire the parts. Is no one following up to insure the recall requirements are fulfilled or are we waiting for a major injury to occur when this part fails? is everyone experiencing this problem or is a local issue. Any assistance is appreciated.

We received a re-call (n08/NHTSA 13v-038) on our 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 truck several months ago. Every time I call to check the status, I am told that there is still no remedy for the situation and a follow-up re-call notice will be sent when a remedy is available. This is the rear axle pinion nut and I won't go into detail as to what is says could happen as I am sure you are well aware already. I believe that if customers had to be given a safer vehicle to drive while awaiting repairs for the ones they are paying for that a remedy would probably come a lot quicker. I actually believe that dealers should be made to provide alternate transportation at no cost to the consumer. I cannot fathom it taking this long to remedy this situation knowing the damage it could cause. Something really should be done about the length of time this is taking. Thank you for your time. I would appreciate any positive feedback on this.
I owns a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500. I have attempted to have the vehicle repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 13v038000 (power train) but was informed that the parts were not available and that he would be contacted when the parts were to become available. I feel that since the failure was reported in February of 2013, there should have been a remedy available. The recall stated that the expected date to begin servicing vehicles was during may of 2013 and it is currently late August of 2013. The current mileage is 24,000 and I am uncomfortable driving the vehicle for any distance, but will be forced to take it cross country in the near future. I have called Chrysler repeatedly and have been told it's a parts supplier problem, they are changing suppliers, it will now be 3-4 weeks. . . . One excuse after another. Yesterday I called again and was advised to take the truck to a dealer and have them check the pinion nut to see if it was loose. I did so, it was not loose, and I was told "it should be ok" for the trip, but no guarantee. This is rotten way to do business. There is no failure yet.

We were going 70 mph, in the left lane passing a semi-truck, towing our boat in traffic when we heard a loud noise & started seeing parts coming out from underneath our vehicle. The vehicle became uncontrollable, but between the two of us, we were able to get to the right side of the road, but still blocking traffic in the right lane. A park ranger came behind us, put on his flashers to warn traffic behind us & an incident response truck also came. They were able to pull us about a half block to a spot in the road where we were no longer blocking traffic. A tow truck came & took us 50 miles to ellensburg, wa where our truck was repaired under warranty at university auto center. We had received a safety recall notice (n08/NHTSA 13v-038) several months prior to the incident, but with every service at our local Dodge dealer we were told that the parts were not yet available & not to worry that no problems had occurred yet. We were without our vehicle for 15 days. It has been repaired, but we are nervous about driving it. We have been told by several that the outcome could have been way more serious including fatal if we were not towing our boat. The weight of the boat held us down. We are faithful Dodge customers, so will be contacting them direct to relay all of this information to them in our words. It was a very scary experience & we feel that the Chrysler corporation needs to compensate us.
