1 Accelerator Stuck problem of the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 01/05/2016

On about 5 different times my accelerator pedal has gotten stuck and accelerating to about 90 plus mph while on the highway. I had to stomp on it several times to get it unstuck. I have seen where other people have had the same problem as mine. However the Dodge dealer in baytown texas said they have not gotten any recalls on this problem and can not do anything for me until there is a recall. Also I was told about the airbag recall and they also have told me that they will not do any repairs until I receive a recall notice by mail which I still have not received. We have had problems receiving our mail due to new mail carriers put the wrong mail in different mail boxes. So what can I do to address this problem before I am in and accident and injury or kill someone and or myself. I have also had some issues with my steering.

3 Accelerator Stuck problem of the 2010 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 10/07/2013

That morning I was driving to work heading east on state road 56. I was passing another vehicle when the accelerator stuck to the floor. I was exceeding 100 mph and could not slow down. I had both feet on the brake pedal but that didn't help. The brakes were smoking hot!!. Thank god there wasn't a school bus picking up children at that time. I finally decided to turn the ignition switch off. I thought maybe the steering wheel would lockup; but it worked.

4 Accelerator Stuck problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 06/09/2013

While reverse parking at approximately 10 mph; the accelerator stuck to bottom of vehicle floor (sending vehicle to speed exceeding 70 mph) and it accelerated out of control. In an attempt to stop and avoid hitting pedestrians and building behind me; I hit the brakes, but the brakes would not stop the vehicle. I was forced to place the vehicle in park shift position while hitting brake, in order to stop vehicle. At first the shift control stopped in 'd' and the vehicle shot forward, but I kept hitting the brakes. And eventually; I managed to get it in the park position and it stopped the vehicle.

8 Accelerator Stuck problem of the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/08/2006

While driving 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4,I went to pass a slower moving vehicle, the truck went into passing gear, and the accelerator stuck all the way to the floor. I tried to lift it with my foot and only the plastic portion of the pedal came up, the truck was still going at full foot pedal. I looked at speedometer and was going over 100 + miles and hour, the only thing I could think to do was to put it in neutral, but at that rpm the motor would surely blow. I stood on the brakes, until I was slowing a bit and then put in neutral,at which time the motor was free revving at redline. I was able to stop, all the while the motor was red lining, and then shut the key off. Thank goodness the brakes held, I don't know how much longer they would have though , there was smoke rolling off the entire front end of the truck. I notified the dealer, who recommended that I call roadside assistance and have it towed in ,he gave me the number , and was sorry for this happening, and unfortunately he had no porter to come and pick me up, could I stay with the truck until tow truck arrived. I called the tow truck assistance and waited for them to arrive , the man informed me that when the key is shut off, it resets itself, he started the truck and drove it up on the flat bed. I arrived at the dealership and they are going to look at it sometime. Last week my 17 year old daughter was driving the same vehicle and had a minor incident while pulling into a parking lot, witnesses stated that the truck was going fast. Last week I like any mother thought it was her driving skills, after today , it's really made me think about her incident. And what would have happened if it was her driving? I saw my life pass by me today literally. I don't want to drive it again. What should I do. I have only had this truck 10 months!!!!!!!!!!.

9 Accelerator Stuck problem of the 2000 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 02/22/2005

On 2/22/05 at 8:20 am I was dropping my grandson off at school. I had parked the vehicle to see rather or not he had gone into the school. When I returned to the truck I had started it up and put into reverse looked behind me and while backing up to notice that there was another car coming so I tried to stop backing when I had discovered that the truck would not stop because the gas pedal was stuck to the floor the engine was revving loudly and the truck was going backwards out of my control. At that point I had noticed that there were children and mothers all around in my path I had no choice but to turn the truck to hit another car to stop me. Before I decided to take such measures I had tried to break to stop the truck. The gas peddle was stuck I had even tried to pull the gas peddle up as well as my breaking to find it was doing me no good. After I had hit the other car I had forced the truck into park because the gas peddle had remained stuck. I then took the keys out of the truck and got out to see the damage to the other car. I am just glade that there was no one hurt in this situation it could have ended much worse there could have been people killed and I feel like there should be a investigation on this situation. The police were called and there were 5 different witnesses that seen the whole accident. West jordan police department, 8000 south 1700 west, west jordan, ut 84088, case number 05h004273, (801) 569-5270.
