1 Speed Control Cable problem of the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/07/2014

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab with the 4. 7 and 4x4. Today while driving with cruise control set at 75 the accelerator stuck and I had to turn the key off to stop the truck. The truck has less than 54,000 miles on it. I don't have floor mats in the truck and once the truck was stopped I checked under the hood and the cable was tightly connected but lose on the throttle body and the same on the gas pedal.

2 Speed Control Cable problem of the 1997 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 11/01/2010

Tonight my throttle got stuck on my 97 Dodge Ram 1500 (all stock parts). After stopping at a light, I pulled out, then accelerated to 50 mph, and let off the gas; but the truck kept accelerating. The throttle was stuck wide open, so pressed the brake, put the truck in neutral, shut off the engine and pulled over to the side of the road. It seems to be linked to the cruise control (which I never had on), or some sort of binding in the firewall where the cable links to the pedal in the cabin. Everything seems to be working fine now, but I'm still going to investigate this further.

Failure Date: 11/22/2002

While exiting the interstate(exit 5, i20), I cut the crusie control off and tried to control the speed with the accelerator, it was impossible to accelerate to exit the off ramp. The accelerator was on the floor board, the linkage had come loose. A bracket, holding the cable, had come apart was able to make a temporary repair. Will contact the dealer in the a. M. Dt.
