Front Seat Power Adjust Problems of Dodge Ram 1500

The drivers powerseat lays all the way back by itself & this has happened 4 times & it does it overnight. When I get in my truck the drivers power seat is all the way layed back. So far it has not happened while driving but after this last time it was layed back I am taking it in to the dealer before it does lay all the way back while driving.

While approaching an intersection the traffic light turned yellow. It required medium braking effort. When I applied the brakes the drivers power seat activated itself and mover ~ 2 inches forward which in turn ended up applying far more pressure on the brake pedal than was intended. Could have caused a vehicle behind me to hit my truck. Luckily there was no vehicle behind me at the time. I immediately check the placement of the seat belt to see if it could have activated the power seat switch. The seat belt was not near the power seat switch.

The driver's seat broke in two areas, one a sharp piece of metalwas protruding through the material in the back which caused cuts on my back and cloths. Second, a bar thatwas under the seat broke and allowed the seat to move forward when braking and back when accelerating.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the driver side electric seat will not go in the down position. The failure prevents him from applying the brakes because his legs become numb. The dealer stated that they cannot change the seat or assist him. I have a power assisted seat. I slowly began to notice that there is a rocking motion, it is very noticeable when I brake or accurate. It seems to get worst and I took it to the dealer who stated that they had another vehicle like mine and that it had the same motion. They stated that it was normal. If the rocking gets any worst, it may give the driver a different feel of the vehicle which may cause him to react incorrectly in different situations and cause an accident.

An electrical short occurred underneath driver's seat, possibly due to motor burning up. Caused an electrical fire directly beneath the driver's seat. Consumer disconnected battery to stop the fire.
