Failure Date: 11/03/2005

I own a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 w/93,000 on it the problems began the radiator $250 just for the part went bad then transmission went out Dodge is infamous for the transmission problems I had to pay $1900 to get it fixed after that was done the fuel rail & o ring started to leak another well know defect on Chrysler vehicles my truck was visibly losing gas & obviously dangerous there is no way to repair the defective cap you have to buy the whole fuel rail from the dealer for $300 just for the part. I think that is not only ridiculous but dangerous & an obvious problem with other chyrsler vehicles & yet nothing has been done.

5 Fuel Injection problem of the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 07/08/2004

My Dodge quadcab hemi began vibrating excessively at around 750 miles and the engine light came on. I called the dealership and they said as long as the light wasn't blinking, it was safe to drive. However, they recommended that I pull into the closest dealership to get it checked out to make sure it was safe to drive the hour I had to go to get home. By the time I got to the dealership, the truck was stalling and blowing blue smoke out the back with a strong gasoline smell. After a week of waiting, it was finally determined that the fuel injectors leaked fuel into the engine. They have discussed replacing the long block, but say that it is a restricted item and they have to pull one off the assembly line and don't know when that will happen. I am still waiting to find out when I may get my truck back. I asked them to just replace the truck since it is so new, but they say at the dealership that it between me and Chrysler and the TX lemon laws. I've had no luck even getting a response from Chrysler.

6 Fuel Injection problem of the 1998 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 07/27/2003

My son, william, was driving our 1998 Dodge pickup on highway 78 when it began to lunge. Since we had to put 2 transmissions in his previous Dodge pickup, he thought something was wrong with this transmission. He started to pull off the road and looked in his rearview mirror for traffic when he saw flames and smoke coming from between the cab and bed. He hurriedly pulled off the road and when he opened the drivers door flames englufed the cab. He had to go out through the fire. About 1 minute after he and his passengers emerged from the pickup, it exploded. The only thing left of the truck was what was metal. Will had second degree burns to his face, ears, neck, hands and arms. He spent one night in the hospital. I contacted Dodge and was told there would be an investagator look at the truck. I was then told by Dodge since the pickup burned totally there was no way to determine they were at fault. After looking on the internet I found that there seems to be quite a number of fires in Dodge vehicles.

I own a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4. 7 v-8. The vehicle has a tendency to stall and idle low. At random times, the truck has a wild fluctuation at idle, surging from 400rpm to 1300 rpm for approx 15 seconds before the computer corrects the idle. I took the truck to the dealer and they were not able to find any problems with the vehicle.
