Tire Sidewall Problems of Dodge Ram 1500

I was driving on a straight , asphalt paved road when the right rear tire suddenly failed. There was no prior indication of any problems with the tire. I had the car in to the dealer about 7 days before and their checklist shows the tires and inflation were ok. My speed at the time was about 40mph. I have a photo of the tire. The tire failed completely on both sides of the tire where the sidewall meets the tread.

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. The vehicle has grumman allied long life tires. The contact stated that four ply tires are not strong enough to tow or be used with four wheel drive. While driving 65 mph, the rear passenger side tire blew out. The contact went to have the tire replaced and was informed that it was a light duty tire. The front driver side tire has a crack on the sidewall, facing the rim. All four tires were replaced, but the dealer stated that they were not covered under warranty. The tire size and dot number were unknown. The current mileage was 23,926 and failure mileage was 23,885.

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. The vehicle has michelin ltx a/s, size lt265/70r17 tires. While driving 70 mph, the passenger side rear tire blew out and destroyed the sidewall. The contact returned the tire to an inspection station and was informed that it failed due to a manufacturer defect. He notified michelin of the failure, but they refused to speak to him and would not replace the tire. The current and failure mileages were 3,321.

The contact owns a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact noticed that the two front tires were flat after he pulled into the driveway. He proceeded to inflate them, but the air leaked out immediately afterwards. The driver and passenger side rear tires were both split at the seam, but still hold air. Goodyear has not been notified. The current mileage was 68,000 and failure mileage was 67,000. Updated 01/17/08. There was an air leak from the sidewall. Updated.

While driving at a speed of 30 mph the outside sidewall and tread completely separated on the tire. These were cooper discoverer s/t lt265/70 r17 made in utah 02/05. The side wall remained on the rim as well as the remaining parts of the tire, it was wide open between the tread and the sidewall all the way around the tire. Not a "blowout" the tire came apart. If this would have been at highway speed I wouldn't be writing this.

The side walls of all the tires that came with the truck are unzippering around the sidewall near the writing. It is in a circular path all the way around the tires. The tires are properly inflated. I have seen the same damage to other truck tires of the same style. I was told by good year it is normal for this to happen. The left front tire was removed for safety reasons. I was told it was in danger of a sidewall blow out. It will not even hold air. It leaks out of the crack.

Sidewall failure on left rear tire and apparent weak ring on the other three. Local dealer confirmed this and my complaint number is 863246 but because I wouldn't take there discount goodyear won't return my calls and e-mails.

Goodyear wrangler ap tires on 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. I have now had to replace all 5 (4+spare) due to splits in the sidewall near the rim. The first one was 2 summers ago, 3 more tires last last summer, and the last one now. I have been fortunate enough to find the problem before blow outs.

Recall no 04v221000, fmvss 120/certification label: consumer received a recall notice informing him of a change for the tire pressure sticker. The instructions informed the consumer to use a lower tire pressure. This lower tire pressure has caused the tire to rupture at the sidewall due to under inflation.

While driving 55 mph, sidewall separated from right front tire and blew out on the highway. Original manufacturing equipment on a Dodge, ram,1998, tire size p26575r16, and mileage 30,000. Consumer added that back left tire sidewall is starting to peel at firestone markings, dot numbers for tires are bm14474-3 and bm14976-1.

While driving, right front michelin tire p245/75r16 blewout at the sidewall, michelin would not replace tire.

Split in sidewall near rim of wheel. It was noticed when oil was changed. Goodyear said they were not having problems with these tires. (tiresize: p245/75r16)( dot number: tire size: p245/75r16 ).

Outside sidewall on two of goodyear wrangler ap tires, p245/75r16 have split. Right front split 6 months ago while traveling at approximately 35 mph, and right rear tire split while traveling at approximately 25 mph on March 27th, 2001. Dot # m670ck0a248.
