Goodyear wrangler hp p275/60r20 within the 50,000 miles that are on my 2004 Dodge ran 1500 quad cab truck I have gone threw 2 sets of these tires they have a major early wear problem for starters. But worst of all around 25,000 miles the tread separates on the 1st set the tread didn't come all the way off the truck just bounced me into the ditch the 1st one that went was in the front and I was on the highway. When it happens in that case the truck becomes uncontrollable. After I replaced it happened to 2 more shortly after. Now I am on the 2nd set they have 25,881 miles on them yes that's it and the tread completely came off of 1 and another is about to do the same. They also have a major problem with early wear. The thing that really gets me is when I called goodyear the 1st time I was told my warranty was up after a year no ifs ands or buts about they wouldn't do anything about it. The same thing was said to me today when I called about the second set. Apparently jodi from goodyear corp. Office didn't know I was at a garage location earlier and found to have a 50,000 mile warranty. O_o_o_o_o I'm sorry mr. Wolfe that tire does have a 50,000 mile warranty. I can drive anything with a motor and anything that drives without a motor when they go on the highway trust me there is nothing you can do about it. My father also bought the same truck as me with the 20 in wheels and is having the same problem. It is just a matter of time before people start dyeing on the highways just like firestone and goodyear wont do anything for those of us who have them. God bless. Jw.

19 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 07/08/2003

The vehicle is a 2002 Dodge ram sport 4x4 with 28,000 miles with goodyear wrangler hp 275/60/20 tires. I have had 12 tires which had to be replaced when they were ruined after going flat from puntures as well as numerous flat repairs. Complaints to both daimler Chrysler and goodyear yielded nothing but comments of surprise on both their parts with a reminder that there is no warranty on the tires. The Dodge brochure says off road rated tires, goodyear says excellent off road traction. The tires have no puncture resistance, the present tires have hundreds of cuts, some through to the belts. Last new tire blew with just 100 miles on it. First flat was at 250 miles on vehicle. When the tires are punctured the inner liner splits making repairs improbable. Goodyear is the only manufacturer of that size tire so there are no alternatives. Perhaps the lemon law may help, goodyear and daimler Chrysler will not. Good news is that I can probably get a job on a nascar pit crew with my new found tire changing speed which may help supplement my income to buy more tires for my truck.

While driving I-4 (east) heading towards daytona, my truck suddenly had excessive vibration and within 5 minutes, the tread separated from the tire flew up into the wheel well and tore up the quarter panel forward and behind the wheel, tore off the mudflap, and broke off the fender flare. I was able to control the truck to a stop without further damage or hitting another vehicle. The truck was customized as I had bought it in 1997 and the customization has never interfered with the operation of the vehicle. My insurance company has a picture of the damage to the vehicle and also a picture of what was left of the tire. Unfortunately, I replaced the tires (all four) before I knew that bridgestone was the same manufacturer as firestone. The tires could not be recovered from the store that replaced them. The reason I replaced all four tires is because I did not trust bridgestone dueler h/t anymore. (dot number: unknown tiresize: 265/75r16).
