41 Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2014

This government vehicle has been deemed 'unsafe' to drive due to the affected unavailable parts. I have checked with the dealership to see if the parts can be brought from another location, to no avail. This vehicle has been 'out of service' for months while we wait for the part. It is our only longbed truck and used heavily during the current fire season. It is necessary to get this vehicle back in service and feel this is an unacceptable length of time to wait.

42 Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2014

We received a notice in the mail regarding a national recall on our vehicle. We had the vehicle inspected by our local Dodge dealer and were told we would be called when the parts come in. To date (over 1 month now) we have not gotten this recall part fixed, nor have we heard anything from the dealer. Appx 2 weeks ago we made a follow up phone call to the dealer and were told that parts had still not arrived as there was a shortage of parts available. What in the hell could be taking the company so long to resolve this issue. In the recall letter it specifically states that :this could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning. We have two small children. Should any accident occur as a result of this issue I will personally sue the [xxx] out of whomever is and whomever is even moderately close to being responsible for the defects of this truck. Period. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

46 Steering problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2014

I received a recall notice in the mail and took my truck to the dealer who preceded to tell me that it did not apply to my truck , so when my 16 year left the dealership 2 days later she was driving down the road and it started shaking uncontrollably and she heard a snap and lost control of the steering and hit a guardrail and wrecked, if not for the guardrail she would have went down a six ft embankment and been injured. She had just driven on the interstate and if she had been on it she probably would have died. I do not appreciate the dealer putting my daughter in this kind of danger, when I contacted them about this they said well, we are only sent 1 every 7 days and they are 30 people in front of you. This excuse is unacceptable and my child could have been killed. I had to pay 933. 00 for repairs and I expect to be reimbursed for these repairs.

51 Steering problem

My truck violently shakes when you hit a bump at approx. 55 mph or greater. It also wanders and is very tough to steer when the vibration starts. It seems to be consistent to thousand of other complaints bye Ram 2500 owners I have read about online and watched videos regarding there "Dodge death wobble" nightmares with the trucks. I recently consulted with the dealer and they offer a steering linkage "upgrade kit" for approx. $1200 installed. From what I have researched is the kit doesn't always fix the problem. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with only 55,000 miles on it that I will not drive over 55 mph. It terrifies me when it shutters so bad. I cannot believe a $45,000 truck new priced is undriveable over 50 mph due to the ungodly shaking. I don't know how this has escaped recall with millions of owners complaining and making you tube videos and posting on forums about the "Dodge death wobble. " its so unbelievable that I paid over 30k for a truck and it only has 50,000 miles on it and cant be driven over 50 mph!! please look at some of the "Dodge death wobble" videos on you tube and tell me how that cant be safety issue.

68 Steering problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2013

I went to the dealer for a state inspection. I was told that the front end steering parts needed to be replaced as it wasn't strong enough for the truck. I asked if it was recalled as it wasn't strong enough. They said no, and the only way they could correct with their parts was replace the whole system. (they would have gotten a part from a outside parts house to replace the one bad part). I believed them and had the whole system replaced for over $1100. It was the replaced system evidently that has been recalled. I have contacted a dealer closer to my winter home for the recall. I have been waiting for over two months for them to contact me that the parts were in. At the original time of me checking I was told the parts probably were not even made yet. Repeated checking is to no avail. I am told they only receive about one part ever two weeks, and they had my info and would call me. The problem could cause a crash! with the winter we have had, and we do plow with this vehicle, it should be a priority. They were contacted January 7th and we are now into March. The time has pasted on when this should be done.

70 Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2013

I have owned this truck from day one. 2007 Ram 2500 4x4 quad cab 5. 9. 50,000 miles. Truck has been pulling to the right for a while. I took vehicle in for alignment at dealership. They set it to specs. Brought it back about 40 days later to realign, still pulling to the right. Service advisor said that I needed to buy an offset ball joint in order for them to get more adjustment and to correct alignment at a cost of $622. 00. Said that this is common problem. I called & emailed Dodge/Chrysler asking why I would have to buy a part to correct a stock factory item. They called dealership to verify problem and told me what the dealership said it needed and that was all. Consumer shouldn't have to buy aftermarket parts to fix a stock item.
