Tire Blowout Problems of Dodge Ram 2500

Tl the contact owns a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 equipped with four mastercraft courser axt (na) tires, size: 285/75/r16/ (na). The tires were purchased in January of 2018. While driving approximately 65 mph and pulling a trailer, the front passenger tire suddenly blew out. During the incident, the front passenger rim was destroyed. The contact indicated that the exact tire pressure was checked before starting the trip. The manufacturer and local dealer (elliston repair and tire in fredricktown, ohio were notified. The VIN and vehicle failure mileage were unknown. The tire failure mileage was 100.

On sat. 11/21/15 I was driving east on I-80 at martis valley in truckee, CA. Suddenly, I felt a vibration in the front end. As I slowed to merge into the right lane, so that I could pull over, the right front tire blows to pieces, my truck lunges into the right lane, narrowly missing a Subaru, and I finally get safely pulled over. The tires, bfg ko2 all terrain, are brand new, less than 1000 miles on them. Cost me $2200. 00, bought them 2 weeks earlier from discount tire in reno, nv. Upon further investigation into bfg tires, I have found over 150 complaints, just in the past six mos. , of either the same blowout that happened to me, or the tread of the tire peeling off completely. Some people have had significant property damage compared to the damage that my truck endured. This may have something to do with the tires being on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, as the cycle of "most" of the complaints are people that drive these vehicles. Bfg then tells the consumer that they need the tire to determine why the tire failed. Then after they get the tire they deny the consumers claim, and tell them that the tire failed because of something the consumer had done, I. E. Low tire pressure, struck something, ect. . . Seems to be the same story over and over. I have new tires on order, some nitto's. Never tried them, but I have a lot of buddies that run them. I hope that this complaint will be investigated before somebody causes a bad accident. I have the shredded tire that I was hoping to send to you guys to see if you could determine the cause of the blowout. Thank you.

I had a blow out while driving at 70 mph on interstate 95 in virginia. I was on vacation, the tire has a 70k mile warranty and I had 44k miles on the tire. The tire blew out no warning, it sounded like a bomb had exploded. The tire blow out, knocked out my front right passenger side headlight completely, knocked the front bumper a loose from the right side fender, dented the right side fender and passenger door. Thank god I didn't lose control of the vehicle nor was another car traveling beside me.

The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 equipped with michelin goodrich lt (na) tires, size: 265/70r17 (na). While driving 65 mph, there was an abnormal vibration coming from the vehicle. The contact noticed the tires where cracking and coming apart from the seams. After driving approximately 4 miles, the tires blew out without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The tire manufacturer stated that the cracks were due to normal weather conditions in the area. The tires were replaced. The vehicle and tire failure mileage was 17,773.

While driving my 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 on a four lane highway the front right firestone transforce tire blew out. The blow out was immediate and unexpected. The truck careened from median to median barely missing another vehicle until I was finally able to bring it under control. The contact stated the driver side front passenger tires blew due to tread separation while he drove at 45 and 65mph causing damaged to the vehicle running board and bed. The manufacturer denied assistance with the repair. The passenger suffered injuries to lower back. The tires were replaced. The tires failure mileage was 22,000. Li.

On a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 three of the five stock goodyear wrangler rt/s 245/75 r16 tires have been voluntarily replaced by the manufacturer for sidewall separation. The fourth tire blew one week ago while towing a light boat (2000lbs) at approximately 65mph. I was able to maintain control, but I had my wife and two children aboard and am upset that the same problem has occurred repeatedly due to an admitted manufacturer error. The tires have less than 45,000 miles on them and the replacements are showing minute signs of sidewall separation with less than 10,000 miles. To replace these tires would cost approximately $800, $1000 with the spare. I feel endangered by the reputation of the tires and truly feel that the product that I have paid for has fallen woefully short of expectation, while operated under very light workloads and very low mileage. I feel it is the responsibility for goodyear to provide a safe and quality product that meets the demands of a load range e tire.

The tire size was 225/75/15. The current mileage was unknown and the failure mileage was 127253. There was also damage on the side of the trailer. Aaa replaced the tire. The retailer where the tires were purchased stated that they could process a claim. Dot number not was unavailable.
