Truck will randomly have no throttle response either while driving or coming from a dead-stop. It has also seemed to get stuck for a few seconds before also, which has also happened twice. I was crossing a railroad when the pedal lost response therefore, I had to roll off of the railroad. It has also happened while I was crossing an intersection with a trailer. I lost all power and the throttle wouldn't respond. Sometimes, when I restart the truck, it will work for a little while. Overall, it is consistent therefore, it worries me when I drive it because it will happen without warning.

While traveling on I-5 in portland, oregon, I lost control of the accelerator pedal, it when into a "dead pedal mode". I was on a very busy section of this interstate and had to immediately find a local off the side of the road next to an on ramp. It was a very dangerous situation. It was an electronic problem.
Driving at any time any conditions turning or strait roads the ect light comes on. When this happens you loose all control of the vehicle steering and brakes included. The rpms will jump up high then drop so low the truck will die or idle really rough. Rameys can't fix it local service stations can't fix I've almost wrecked several times bc of this I've had a new throttle body installed no fix 150$ then a new bell crank assembly 400$ still no fix I've searched and called everyone who might have an idea Dodge should look into this because it's not a rare thing from what I see online.

I was letting my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins warm up in the driveway when rpm suddenly jump to 3000 for a couple of seconds after that I left to go to work I was driving down a city street going 30 miles an hour after the transmission shifted into 3rd gear the truck automatically accelerated as if I was pushing full throttle and then let off when I hit the brakes, then I had no throttle response I pulled over shut the truck off started it back up and then had throttle response again the check engine light was now on. On my way to autozone to get my codes read it did it one more time where it accelerated by itself I hit the brakes and it stopped accelerating and after that I lost throttle control as in a "dead pedal". This is a huge safety concern if you're coming up to a stop sign or stop light as the truck may accelerate on its own into a bystander or another automobile. I think recall action needs to be taken place.

I entered the highway in my Dodge Ram 2500 2008 truck, while I was at 50 mph my truck started making growling noises from the engine and I heard explosive noises from the bottom of the truck. My speed dropped to 25 mph and I could see from my side mirror car parts exploding off the truck on the highway in front of other vehicles while I was in motion and driving. This a highway at speeds of 70 mph so I had to move over to the service lane luckily I was in the right lane but I barely avoid a large petroleum truck from crushing my truck which would have been a homicide because he was blowing his horn and could not stop in time. The car dealer claims they are investigating its has now been 4 days and I have not heard anything yet called Chrysler manufacturer waiting to hear back about what caused this to happen to my truck. I only know some of the parts damaged on the truck.

The contact owns a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to accelerate independently. When the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop and the engine continued to rev without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Upon restarting my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel, my abs light and parking brake light came on after driving a few short moments ,I also noticed that speedometer indicator was not working but the vehicle rpm indicator was. Causing myself some concern I checked my brakes and noticed I had a hard brake pedal when applied but was still able to stop. I contacted my local dealership and took my vehicle in for service for this issue and recall notice concerning the drivers air bag inflator. I was contacted back by my service adviser, asking for approval for additional two hours of diagnoses time due to the fact his mechanic could not find the problem. I was notified at end of the day that the issue was found to be faulty power distribution center, output failed for circuit f202 unable to recover tipm thru reconfiguration. No pdc available thru parts at this time, fabricated jumper lead to to circuit f202 from fuse 28 in pdc. This is a temporary fix customer advised to replace pdc ASAP current price $917. 00 additional 1. 5 hrs labor to install and program unit . Total hours for diagnosis was 3 hours at a cost of $315. 00 to customer. I believe this should investigated by the NHTSA as a on going concern and for consideration of a issuing a new safety recall for this issue.
Steering recall- vehicle initiates into the death shake when speed exceeds 55mph on a turn. Transmission problems- vehicle has problems shifting normally by shifting straight into 4th gear when shifting into drive and will drive sluggishly.
The contact owned a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while approaching a stop, the contact engaged the brake pedal and the vehicle accelerated independently. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact had to crash into a mountain order to stop the vehicle. The contact did not sustain any injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,869.
I was driving down the road and the engine started dying then taking back off, then all of a sudden the speed odometer dropped to zero wouldnt come back up while I was still moving, then the abs light the check enging light and the brake light and washer fluid light all came on and I lost power to the tail lights head lights and the windows started rooling up and down by them selves. When I got home and turned off the truck I called the dealer and they said that it was the tipm and it would have to be replaced. They said the trailer I was pulling must of had a short and thats what caused it. I told them that I wasnt pulling a trailer and they called me a liar and hung up on me the windows continued to roll up and down untill the batt was disconnected. The next morning I then hooked the battery back up and it all worked fine. No problem a couple weeks later it started again finall found a short in the light control on the right tail light replaced the part that holds the bulbs and the problem corrected itself. Now it has since started doing it all again but will not reset itself I contacted the dealer and they said that the tipm would reset itself five times then would have to be replaced. The veh was not pulling a trailer when this happened and the only trailer I pull with it has the lighting package working fine on all trucks I hook it to but not this one. Please get the Dodge company to recall these peices of junk im tired of paying 1200 dollars to replace a bunch of parts to find out its their piece of junk tipm causing all the problems.

I lowered passenger rear window. Air came in I all most lost control of my truck. . Passenger front seat vibe rated so bad it came lose from floor. . Dodge garage said this is not their problem. . People need to know about this problem. .
Dead pedal after lifting off throttle completely and then reapplying throttle. Have to wait 2-3 seconds before truck does anything and its not turbo lag. I've tried rolling off the throttle and also lifting off throttle quickly and it makes no difference, there is no response at all from the truck for an unsafe amount of time. Going through intersections it can be scary at times.
When accelerating then letting off accelerator for a brief moment then trying to re-accelerate there is no response / dead pedal delay for 2 seconds then the truck will accelerate. Very dangerous in traffic situations. Dealer is aware of problem and can duplicate all the time. No solution at this time.
The electronically controlled throttle pedal has a severe delay when having to suddenly let off at speed then the need to re-apply throttle in an emergency situation. There is a delay in upwards of 1 to 2 seconds before the truck responds to throttle input. This happens on a regular basis and can be very dangerous when pulling into traffic or merging onto a freeway. I've been close to accidents on multiple occasions due to the lack of throttle response caused by this.

A dead throttle pedal occurs at two different instances. One, when from a dead stop pulling out into traffic. The accelerator pedal will press but the vehicle will not go or change rpm for a second, then the vehicle will move. Two, when trying to pass someone, occasionally the vehicle will exhibit the same dead pedal response for a moment then accelerate. This is most definitely unsafe for my family. Multiple dealerships have told me they cannot replicate the problem, but I have researched online and many others have experienced the same. It is a concern that must be fixed.

10 minutes after start up I began to travel in drive gear of automatic transmission. Upon acceleration the pedal was dead, I. E. No power. The engine was running fine. After the truck decelerated to about 10 mph the pedal was back and working. This happened again after about 20 seconds. This behavior continued for 30 minutes and stopped. It was colder that morning (10 degrees f). The pedal also had run away acceleration at times before the pedal went dead. I thought it was fuel related but that doesn't explain the run away acceleration. I believe it an electrical problem with the apps system? very scary though. I hope it doesn't die crossing and intersection.

Our 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 spontaneously caught on fire last night while parked in the driveway. We had not driven it for two days, the keys were not in the ignition, no one was near it. . . It just went up in flames. My husband could not put the fire out so we called 911 and the fire department finally got the fire put out. The truck is totaled, just a charred metal frame at this point. Had the vehicle been parked in the garage, we would be dead.

I know I am not the only one that thinks this is a bad problem, in fact I have not met a person that has owned this era of Dodge ram that has their dashboard and the whole parts inside can have been falling apart. Mine has fallen and hit my legs and or lap. Now I don’t mean the whole dash at one time but I have glued, taped and put a dash pad over top to try to keep things from falling into the vents and blower motor or anything that is behind and under the top. This is a definite safety problem cause I never know when this will happen and happening more often. I bought this truck with 11 miles on it from logansport indiana, September of 1999. I had been looking for a 2 wheel drive with a cummins 5. 9 diesel and found it there in logansport we lived in lafayette indiana and hoped we would be able to travel and see this beautiful country. My wife’s family started having medical problems and after we did what we could for them, then my family needed help and none wanted nursing homes so we put aside our wishes and took care of them. They took care of us even so to many on both sides didn’t want to take care of us and some didn’t even want us, luckily we knew what that felt like so we didn’t turn our backs when we were needed, (golden rule) all that aside we wanted to be able to take the airstream 2002 we got in 2020 still wanted to travel. We sold florida home and made sure 2500 ran was mechanical sound and power train was checked, oil, transmission fluid changed put helper bags on leaf springs and drove to indiana, sold our home we had bought in 78 and sold that house and pulled the airstream to tucson az to find our forever home and think we might have finally got one and put our dream of travel aside. I was diagnosed with miligant myloma in florida cancer center and went through radiation and chemotherapy in port charlotte florida before the trip and now just went through radiation here at banner university cancer center and go see my cancer doctor at va here to see.
