I bought this truck brand new and never been abused but back on 4/03/2004 my truck gauges would flicker and go to zero and then go back all in a millisecond. This has happened since I have owned it. It keeps doing it to this day. You could be driving the truck at low speed and high speeds when it does it the germlin dash shake. It happens so fast that I can't get a picture of it. I have taken it to the dealer nurmious times and they said there's nothing wrong with it. But yet you look at all the Dodge forums and everyone that's owns a 2003 to 2005 Dodge ram cummins 2500 or 3500 this has happened to them. What happens if the gauges cause the truck to shut down at a high rate of speed? I have looked over all the recalls and think a investagation should be done on this. I currently only have 106,000 miles on my 2004! Dodge Ram 2500. Like I said this has gone on since April of 2004 and to this day still does it. Like I said I have taken it to the dealer nurmious times and they said nothing is wrong and no they say they can fix it for a large amount of money since it's not covered under warranty.

I've had this since the Dodge c02 recall a while back. Happens maybe once a week, maybe twice, but not often enough to reproduce at the dealer. Here's the deal:
you are accustomed to applying a certain amount of throttle to the vehicle during launch to maintain rpms. The engine runs up to 2000-3000 rpm when you expect it to be around 1200. The computer seems to be fueling up for launch, but does not when the rpms come up. After 5 seconds or so, it will suddenly "realize" that it made the mistake and starts to fuel, when you then have to push the pedal down quite a bit to maintain the rpms. I have had several close calls. Chrysler tech group can not reproduce problem so they are refusing to fix it. This problem will eventually result in an injury, as it is getting more severe as time goes on. Other users are reporting the same problem. . Read more...

While waiting at a stop light, I had the clutch pedal depressed and the truck in first gear. The truck suddenly started to drive off as if I had released the clutch. I had to struggle to shut off the engine and regain control of the vehicle. Nlm.

Fuel metering failure. The engine ran away and did not stop when the key was turned off. I had to stall the engine with my brakes and had no steering because the key was off. I consider this to be a very serious incident and if my wife had been driving the truck, she would likely have wrecked it or blown up the engine!.
While driving throttle will break, and rough idle. Please provide more information.
While sittiing in park position and running, vehicle took off and hit a car. Then ran into a pile of snow. Dealer has not seen vehicle.
