I have received a recall on this vehicle. I am on a list of 115 people to get this taken care of. I am told by the dealer that they are sent one replacement part a week. I have a trip schedule where I will be pulling a 5th wheel a long distance. I cannot cancel this trip. I leave end of March. With the schedule above I will not be able to complete this travel. Is it safe for me to take this trip and drive this truck pulling the 5th wheel????? please respond and let me know what I need to do to get this part installed before I leave. Or tell me if they have to give me comparable truck to take my trip with while mine waits for replacement part. I will be interested to see if this is responded to in a manner that lets me know if it was read and taken seriously. Hopefully my faith in the government to keep me safe will not fail me.

I have been trying to get the steering recall on my Dodge Ram 3500 repaired for about 3 months, the Chrysler corp. Representatives informs me that the part is not available. This recall has been effect much longer than 3 months. If this part breaks as the recall indicates the steering would be uncontrollable and could have fatal consequences. Does someone have to die before Chrysler is required by law to repair the affected vehicles. I have made many calls and am told each time the parts are not available and they have me on a waiting list. I tow a 11,000 pound 5th wheel RV which I think adds to the danger of this part failing.

I received a safety recall notice n49 / NHTSA 13v-529. I took my truck to the dealer lake keowee Dodge on 1/11/14 to be inspected. The dealer confirmed the part needed to be replaced on my truck. The dealer informed me that they were only allowed to order 1 of these parts every 10 days. The dealer informed me that there were already 10 customers ahead of my truck. This results in it being at least 100 days before the dealer could order the part for my truck. This is totally an unreasonable and irresponsible approach to correct a known safety defect. I request an explanation and prompt attention to this matter to insure my safety and the safety of everyone.
