The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact stated that the steering wheel started to shake and became loose. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer numerous times and they were not able to replicate or diagnose the failure. While traveling, the steering linkage fractured and the vehicle was slowly driven and parked at the contact's residence. The dealer sent a technician to further diagnose the vehicle in which the technician verified the failure, but no remedy was provided. The dealer also repaired the rear differential three times and the failure recurred. The contact noticed that there was abnormal swaying in the rear and the steering wheel failed to safely operate. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was less than 3,000.

Since this truck was new it would shake violently in the front end when you hit a slight bump at 60 mph changed everything in front end and added steering dampener recommended by dealer. Does it more often now. We have named it the death rattle.

I received a recall notice in January about the left tie rod ball stud possibly breaking. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that my vehicle was in need of this repair but that they did not currently have the parts. It has now been over six months and I still have not heard any word from the dealer that they have the parts to do this needed repair.

Driving on a highway traveling at 75 mph, the vehicle suddenly shook violently and it was very difficult to keep a grip on the steering wheel or switch to the brake pedal. I was thrust around in my seat and items from under the back seat were thrown forward into the dash of the vehicle as well. Vehicles around me also noticed and slowed down and steered clear of my vehicle. I was able to slow to a stop at the curb and it stopped. That was the first incident. I did look over the front end and felt the tie-rods, ect to test and everything is tight as it should be and nothing visible to cause this problem. It happened again a week later traveling at 65 mph. It has occurred occasionally since those incidents in June and the speed seems to be less each time. I have avoided driving it for fear I will wreck and kill myself or someone else. I have researched and found it is the "death wobble" that Chrysler has been investigated for and did a recall on. But, the recall does not cover all second generation Dodge pickups, such as mine. This must be noticed and the recall must cover all trucks in the second generation class as well. I will sue if I wreck this truck during a death wobble.

Driving on freeway, went to change lanes and then all of a sudden the front of the vehicle started to shake erratically almost causing me to wreck and/or hit other vehicles. Could not stop the vehicle and it started to lose control. Had to come to a complete stop on the freeway in order for the vehicle to stop shaking. I have made several complaints and attempts to have the vehicle repaired but the dealership keeps telling me that they cannot fix and do not have the parts. I have also contacted Chrysler directly and they do not have a time frame for the parts. I explained the severity of the situation almost crashing and their response was "that would be unfortunate". No help at all! said I would need to go on a waiting list.

Changed lanes at approximate 65 mph the truck began to shank ( wobble) so bad it was hard to keep control of it. Had to come to complete stop to get it to stop . Felt it was unsafe to drive. After researching online there are other post with the same issue they have called the wobble as the death wobble. It has happen 4 times with this truck at different times you don't know or have any indication that it's going to happen. Had the tires balanced and rotated suspension checked all is good according to the repair garage.
Received safety recall around March of 2012 n49 left tie rod ball stud may fracture. Contacted hunter Dodge in lancaster, CA and was told that the parts are not available due to high demand and hunter Dodge would call me when they part comes in. I have called 3 times with the same results. I just received a second recall telling me to have the service done. Contacted service department and got the same run around with no promise that the part would be available. I contacted haddad Dodge in bakersfield and an appointment has been set for 7-27-14 at 7:30 am. Some one needs to investigate hunter Dodge and find out why I have to drive an unsafe vehicle because they cannot get this tie rod ball stud. It has been 5 months since my first contact and they still can't service this recall.
Received a safety recall for notification code n49 on the left tie rod ball. Followed the instructions and took this notice to the local dealer the greg orr auto collection. We were told that they could not get the parts, that they were not available and did not expect to be for several months. It would probably be March or later. Our information was written down on a scratch pad. This is very concerning based on the severity of the recall as described on the recall notice. I would like to know why parts are not available for this recall. I want this work/repair performed immediately. I drive this truck daily and pull cattle and other work trailers frequently and am concerned for my safety.
Had been noticing a shimmy in the front suspension area. The steering wheel would have a very slight vibration after hitting bumps in the road when driving 35mph or greater. This issue has continued for months with several visit to dealership who has been unable to properly identify the problem. The problem has now become a "death wobble" that will shake steering wheel violently and almost shake the entire truck off the road, there have been several more attempt to address the issue with no resolve. Truck is unable to keep alignment, camber and caster is continually off/out of line, and has worn tires unevenly. Have also been experiencing intermittent electrical issues with dash lights flickering, radio lights turning off, electric windows not rolling up or down properly and reverse lights not turning on when engaged.
Chrysler has sent out a recall notice on this vehicle stating the parts to fix it would be available Jan 6, 2014. After contacting the dealership, I was told Chrysler has limited them to how many parts they could order a day to fix the recall. I was put on a list with no guarantee of when the recall could be fixed or scheduled. The problem states on the recall that this part breakage could cause loss of directional control and/or crash without warning. I'm filing a complaint in that Chrysler is failing to repair this recall in a reasonable amount of time.
I received recall n62 for my Ram 3500. I took the truck into the local dealer in early January 2013 and they performed the visual check and confirmed my truck needed to have the tie rods replaced. I was placed on a waiting list and was told I would be called when the part came in. A month later I called back and they said they still didn't have the part and that they were only receiving one part per week from Dodge to be used on the recalls. Last week I had my truck at my mechanic for some other work and he told me that he can call up to the same dealer and get the parts in the same day so he didn't understand what the problem was. Today, March 18, and I called the dealer again. This time they told me that Dodge had cancelled the recall and that a new recall notice would be sent out. It is obvious that Dodge and my local dealer are not taking this recall seriously. I'm tired of getting the run around and want this fixed ASAP!.

We received a recall notice last year and were told to contact a Dodge dealership on January 6, 2014 which we did. They informed us that the replacement parts for the recall had a recall. We have now received a 2nd notice for the recall. Have called vasko Dodge in mcmurray, PA now a total of four times and cannot seem to get any answers. At this stage I am in fear of not only my life, but the lives of my children driving around in an unsafe vehicle. Can we get any answers??? and more particularly a name of a certified Dodge garage that the vehicle can be taken to to be properly fixed??? it's been eight months now. I would appreciate any insight whatsoever for I'm overly concerned at this point. Thank you in advance for your time and attention. I welcome any help at all.

I received an official recall notice for my vehicle (recall notice n49/NHTSA 13v-529) affecting the left tie rod. I have tried having my truck serviced at two different dealerships for this recall since receiving this notice in late December 2013. The dealerships have not been able to schedule my service because they say Chrysler is having difficulty sending the replacement parts. The repair delay (three months) is unreasonable and should be addressed with Chrysler. Is it possible for owners like me to purchase quality after market parts to repair/address only the recall issues and have Chrysler cover the cost if Chrysler is having difficulty finding suitable quality parts vendors?.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 13v529000 (steering) and was unable to have the vehicle repaired because the required parts for the repair were not available by the authorized dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the issue but did not provide a date for when the parts would become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Updated 4/4/cn.

I have been on the waiting list at the local Dodge dealer (mccord in longview, wa. ) for a couple of months to replace this tie rod ball. Now I have been told that it is a restrictive part and Chrysler corp. Is only sending one tie rod per seven days. Looking at where I am at in the stack of recalls, there could be several hundred ahead of me and that suggest to me that my truck could be sitting for almost a year. This is unacceptable. To issue a large recall such as this and not have parts available is irresponsible. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. The recall is : n62 / NHTSA 13v-528 thank you jerry johnson.
Had right front tire replaced at 25,000 miles due to wear. In January, 2014, rec'd notice from Chrysler to take vehicle in for parts replacement to prevent wreck. Service dept at dealer said 'park it unsafe to drive. . Be 10-12 wks before part can be secured to replace'. . Called the recall people they said 'only 1 part per week going to dealerships to repair 2008-2012 model vehicles in the 1500, 2500, 3500 series trucks. . Went to dealership on Jan 27, 2014, they proclaimed not to know the rate of repairs parts available. . Said they called and found out same info I had. . But they wanted to work a deal to get us out of the unsafe truck and into a newer truck with no defaults. . Same price, etc as truck currently . . Didn't work that way today, January 28 when we returned for figures. . New truck would cost $11,000 more than what we now owe on the 2012 . . So we nixed the deal, but we still have truck unsafe to drive because Chrysler won't provide the parts to make the vehicles safe. .
I experienced the Dodge "death wobble" on two occasions during a short drive yesterday. First was on an on-ramp to the right with a slight incline at a speed of approximately 50mph - denver area northbound c470 ramp to i70 eastbound. I crossed an expansion joint at a very slight angle to the vehicle, and immediately experienced a totally unexpected violent wobble in the front end with a near total loss of control. It was frightening! I lightly applied brakes with no immediate wobble reduction. I slowed, and at perhaps 30 mph, the front end stabilized and I was able to continue. A few miles later on i70 I took the ramp - again to the right but on a modest incline this time - to highway 58 westbound. I was still wary and when crossing an expansion joint I again experience the same death wobble, not as bad, but I was expecting it and I was going a little more slowly. This is a scary design flaw with a popular name: "death wobble. " the service writer that I spoke with at a local dealer wasn't even aware of this as a frequent issue (he owns the same model). There are a few aftermarket kits available to correct this flaw with beefier components at some considerable cost. My truck has only 16800 miles; the tires were rotated and balanced about 3k miles ago.
The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph over an uneven road surface, the front end of the vehicle began shaking violently. The dealer was contacted and was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
Recall for tierod left side and unable to get the parts as of oct 2013 and up until now no parts available and still driving with dangerous tierod and no parts for the replacement. Need help we are not getting help from the us government at all so someone is going to die before you all step in and it is to late.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact stated that upon inspection, it was found that the front axle of the vehicle had fractured. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the mechanic stated that the front axle had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 66,000.
Trucked crossed over seam in roadway and started to shake ie shimmy so bad as to make it very difficult to maintain control of the truck I replaced the track bar with a new part problem still there. Felt like might be on the right side so I changed the right tie rod end problem still there. I checked air pressure in tires still no relief from Dodge death wobble. Checked online found a ad for a steering box stabilizer ordered it and installed it seems to of had the most effect still has a slight wobble do not know what the final fix is.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact stated that the tires were wearing prematurely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer multiple times. The technician diagnosed that the tie rod and bolt joints needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 8,000 and the current mileage was 31,300.
My safety issue is when a lance truck camper, model 1172 is attached to truck. The cg is 6-8 behind the rear axle (even though both Dodge and lance data sheets indicate it should be over or in front of rear wheel). In addition, when fresh water tank is full (and without a normal camping load), the gawr of the rear axle is exceeded. 400 pounds of weight is taken off the front axle when the camper is attached to the truck. An inspection of the front tires revealed significant cupping with less than 5000 miles on the new vehicle. The truck with the camper attached is very unstable driving down the highway. I contacted both lance and the dealer I purchased the camper from. Both say there are no issues and everything is in specs.
