Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch Problems of Dodge Stratus

The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Stratus. When the contact attempted to start the vehicle, the key would turn in the ignition but the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the mechanic and it was determined that the neutral switch failed. The current and failure mileages were 131,000. Return usps, made 2nd attempt 08/27/07 failed.

While in park on an incline with engine turned off gear jumped into reverse, and vehicle rolled backwards into another car. Please provide any further information.

Engine was running, in park, and emergency brake not applied. Consumer was on side of vehicle when it shifted to reverse. Vehicle dragged consumer 35-40 feet, incline brought vehicle to a stop. Consumer suffered minor injuries.

After parking vehicle, the vehicle continued to roll down driver's driveway. The vehicle was in park position when this occurred. Also consumer received a mfr. Recall notice concerning parking pawl.

While shift lever in park the vehicle proceeded to roll backward and into an inbankment, resulting in injury to consumer, recall on shift interlock system following incident (98v-183).

Gears can be changed witout depressing brake pedal. Dealer has been notified. Please provide further information.
