When driving home the 2006 Dodge Stratus sxt sedan as mentioned broke on me and my family into a store parking lot where the entire wheel came off the car leaving me and my family stranded luckily we weren't on the hwy driving hwy speeds or im sure me and my family wouldn't probably be living here today. I went online to check we're there any recalls on this vehicle and it came back as ball joint assembly which is the cause of the damage to my vehicle.

Takata there are several things that I have seen as a recall on a Dodge Stratus and tried to report it and whomever I be talking to is in denial about that my car is showing me the signs that it's needs to be fixed because it's a malfunction my ball joint is bad because of the front right steering knuckle has messed it up and my gas gauge is messed up with the alarm and temp control is also messed up.

I was driving and hear a metal scraping noise from my front right side by the wheel when I turned left. Before I got home the noise got extremely loud and constant. I took the tire off when I got home and found the ball joint was broken and was out of position cause a rubbing inside my tire rim. It looked like the arm of the ball joint had been burned through causing it to break. There seems to be a recall on some 1999 Dodge Stratus' ball joints but when I entered my VIN# mine did not come up. They shouldn't just break from normal use. It was on the highway when it happened driving normally then the noise started and I felt kind of a pop and almost lost control of the car.

The outer bearing carrier, fell away from the suspension arm, pulling the half shaft out of the transmission, and the wheel/tire assembly jammed up in the wheel well with a complete loss of steering control. I was driving down the high way when I heard a bang and the car pulled me hard into the medium at 75 miles an hour. I totaled my car. This is the second time the ball joint has sheared off causing the tire to jam in to the fender. First time I was able to get of the road and it was on the driver side of the vehicle. This time it was on the left side of the vehicle. My 3 young kids where in the back seat and could have been seriously injured. Something needs to be done. ## VIN passed ## Dodge Stratus 2006 ##.
First off, I bought this car from my sister. . . The ball joint broke on me within a month. . . Probably not her fault. However the car was making a lot of noises and clanks and creaks, I was told it was just the bushings, guess I found out it wasnt the hard way. About a monthe after the ball joint was replaced the rear strut broke and was rubbing the inside of the rear passenger tire. After that was fixed, about 3 weeks later I was driving home from work and heard an odd grinding sound started to sound like a flat, pulled over to discover that all of my lugnuts had been pushed off somehow and the rim had grinded down the posts. It was only holding on by 1 lugnut and it was almost off too. Most recently the car keeps overheating, replaced the thermostat, and checked all fluids none of which were leaking. Still haven't figured that one out. . . All the fans are running also. And today the caliper broke while I was driving. It caught on the rim and made me come to a forceful stop. I dont know if this is just bad luck or a piece of crap car, hopefully these situations re occuring one after another isnt happening to anyone else. I regret the day I ever bought this car, constantly sinking money into it just to keep it running, I swear im gonna scrap it as soon as I get my taxes, I couldnt let any one else own this godforsaken car.
