Gasoline Fuel System Problems of Dodge Stratus

I purchased a 2002 Dodge Stratus r/t. The main problem that I am experiencing strong (dangerous) gas fumes are entering the cabin. It's been going on since Feb 2009. I can smell the fumes almost all of the time while driving the vehicle. The smell is strong outside the vehicle even while it is parked with the engine running. I cannot drive my vehicle with the air conditioning or heat on because it sucks the gasoline fumes from the engine into the cabin. I've taken the vehicle to the dealership several time and they cannot find the source of the leak. Also I've had other mechanics look at this vehicle and they don't know how fix the problems. I cannot allow passengers to ride in my vehicle because I have concerns for their safety. I believe there is a safety defect (fire hazard/poisonous) and that someone really needs to look into this. I'm getting frequent headaches, weakness and dizziness and cannot afford to purchase a new car right now.

2000 Dodge Stratus, brought vehicle in for repair, it needed the gas filler neck replaced. Unable to find a replacement anywhere, auto repair place could not even find one anywhere in the country. I was also told they are on back order and will not be available anytime in near future. I have emissions test not to mention I have 2 kids that ride in the vehicle. This is shameful and bad business. And not to mention dangerous.

Since 2006 my '06 Dodge Stratus has spontaneously accelerated approximately seven times, most recently in February 2010. Idling in a driveway or at an intersection, the engine will begin to race as if I had floored the gas pedal. Only by shifting into park and/or turning off the ignition am I able to prevent the car from accelerating into the intersection or a wall. The Dodge dealer who regularly serviced the vehicle said they could not diagnose the problem unless the car was hooked up to their equipment at the time of the next occurrence. Consequently, nothing has been done to fix this.

Loss of power and stalling. While on hills it has no power on me shuts off on me every week. Said that I had to pay for fixing that Dodge dealer isn't responsible for charges.

My name is rossetta dunbar. This complaint is for the car allowance rebate system. I feel that my car is eligible for the clunkers for cash program. It is a clunker, it is 11 years old. But because the mpg is 22 I was told I don't qualify. Why haven't it been made a little easier for those that own old vehicles period? I feel this isn't done fairly and it could be changed. This will be break for those who can't afford to upgrade to better cars. Those that are low income workers.

The contact owns a 2003 Dodge Stratus. The contact stated that the vehicle continues to shut off and she smells gas. Her vehicle is experiencing the same failure that she read in a recall notice. The manufacturer stated that her VIN was excluded from the recall. The powertrain and NHTSA campaign id # were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 100,000.

Bought a car from Dodge in lubbock TX have not received mt plates or sticker for the car called Dodge and they told me someone else has my plates and stickers and there finance comp has our title. I dare not drive this car and I am paying for a car I cannot drive I have called Dodge and I am not getting anywhere could you please help me in this matter. Also they told me they have my VIN number on there car.

Vehicle had been leaking fuel. Dealer said that this vehicle wasn't included in the recall 96v006000. Dealer gave no other explanation , bu tindicated that consumer was on his own to repair the problem.
