Reported noise in front end of 2002 Dodge Stratus, dealer found no problem. While driving vehicle down the highway the left lower ball joint failed and vehicle lost sterring abilty and power ability. When wheel came loose it damaged the left front fender and the half shaft. Vehicle was disabled. Vehicle only has 64,000 miles. Parts are being replaced and the old parts will be available for inspection.

2 Steering Knuckle Spindle problem of the 2005 Dodge Stratus

Failure Date: 05/01/2005

The consumer was told by the dealer that the parts were ordered for the 2005 Dodge Stratus right steering knuckle recall and would be informed when the parts came in. The consumer made a follow up and found out that the parts were never ordered. Recall campaign# 04v579000.

3 Steering Knuckle Spindle problem of the 2004 Dodge Stratus

Failure Date: 03/16/2005

A clanking noise started coming from the front of the vehicle. Right front side collapsed onto the ground. Vehicle was unable to move, and it was towed to the dealer. Mechanic determined that the steering knuckle sheared off and needed to be replaced.

4 Steering Knuckle Spindle problem of the 1997 Dodge Stratus

Failure Date: 03/01/2002

While driving 35 mph rear knucle broke and caused right rear wheel to turn under and force vehicle out of control into a ditch. Dealer was notified.
