One problem related to steering anti-theft device has been reported for the 1996 Ford Contour. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle shuts off in gear at 25 mph. Overheated upon acceleration. Dealer contacted, and stated the alarm was the cause. Problems still exists.
