Suspension Problems of Ford Contour

My car was recalled in 2001. The past 6 mo my electrical system smells like its burning or something melting. Almost like its going to catch on fire.

Corrosion under the car (police inceptor ). Car was purchase from a local dealer in bamberg, SC that sell many crown victorias. He indicated my car came from up north, pennsylvania.

I was never notified of any recalls. I have had to pay out of pocket expenses lost control of vehicle replaced starter and brakes several times feels like suspension is falling apart and never notified I have small and older children shameful. These events starting taking place when I purchased the vehicle in 1999 arm control 3 times replaced I was lied to by Ford and said I must of hit a bump bump my bump 3 times almost dead.

While shifting vehicle from park into reverse vehicle will shift itself into neutral, and not allow consumer to move. When coming to a sudden stop, the vehicle shifts itself into neutral. The vehicle vibrates when going at speeds between 50 and 65 miles per hour. A leak was found in the transmission that caused damage after driving around with low fluid.

Vehicle constantly vibrated, when coming to a stop it vibrated so hard as if it was going throw consumer out of the car. Mechanic indicated this was the way vehicle was operating.

Soon after purchasing vehicle it started to have problems with engine. Also,vehicle was shaking whenever going above 50 mph.

Was driving 20mph when front end broke loose. Struts had broken. Vehcle hit ground, andthen was thrown across 2 lanes of traffic. It finally hit a parked vehicle. No injuries.

Left strut spring broke, then 30 days later right one broke.

Consumer states a noise can be heard when the wheels are turned left or right, wheels were replaced once by the dealer, when driving, sometimes vehicle will shake very bad. Vehicle has bad brakes.

Roads were wet and consumer was traveling about 55mph on highway. He felt vibration inside of steering wheel. Without prior warning vehicle flipped twice and landed on top of roof of vehicle. Dealership was aware of problem.

Steering wheel vibrated when consumer approached a speed of 60 to 70 mph. Also, vehicle idled high when removing foot from brake.

Engine chcek light is on, and there is some type of grinding noise coming from the vehicle.

The struts replaced due to noise & the rear bearing's were replaced due to failure. Problem still exist.

While driving down the highway the clicking starts at a speed of 55mph. The clicking is a constant noise and continues to get worse. Dealer was notified and stated that the warranty was up.

Vehicle pulls to the left & the air conditioning unit has a musk smell.

While driving at 60 mph car jerks and vibrates.

When driving there is a vibration in the steering wheel, and when brakes are applyed the steering wheel shakes more. Dealer contacted, and cannot remedy the problem. States the problem is normal. Problem still exists. Provide further information.

When driving at any speed and stopping at a stop, their is alot of vibrating within the steering and the dashboard rattles.

Consumer bought vehicle in September. She went outside that morning to start it up her vehicle and she noticed a knocking noise comming from underneath the hood. The dealer replaced starter and water pump but problem still exist.

While driving vehicle makes a whinning sound, and loses power. Dealr has been contacted.

While driving extreme vibration occurred within the steering column. Also, engine idled very fast, and the vehicle jerked. , dealer stated that this was a normal condition. Please give any further details.

While driving and attemping to make a right or left turn front wheels locked up, causing loss of vehicle control, cause unknown. Please give any further details.

The vehicle had poor gas mileage. The drivers window jammed. The rubber piece around the frame of the right side rear passenger's seat constantly came off. The shoulder harness on driver's side and in the rear seats twisted and jammed. The dashboard cover came loose. The radio operated poorly. The trunk latch often required multiple pulls to open the trunk. The air bag light intermittently came on. While driving there was a whining/grinding noise.
