We have several Ford crown vic police cars in our agency and we are having troubles with the cooling fans breaking down. Other agencies are also having the same troubles. The cost for these repairs are over $600. 00 per squad and with our tight budget these costs are adding up. Is there any active service bulletin or recalls on these parts?.

In January 2005, when my 2000 Ford Crown Victoria had 41573 miles on it, the heater fan failed to blow warm air. A local service garage in gaithersburg, MD tested the system and determined that the blower control module had malfunctioned. The module was replaced (part #xw1h-19e624-ab, made in brazil, $95. 88), and labor to replace the module brought the total bill to $259. 27. It should be noted that only 4000+ miles earlier the compressor and dryer had been replaced to provide cool air during the summer.
