I am a detective with the belleville police department, NJ. We are having an ongoing problem with the Ford Crown Victoria 2011 police intertceptor with manual seats. All our officers are reporting lower back pain due to a lower back bolster built in as part of the seat. This bolster is not adjustable. Upon bringing this problem to our local fleet dealer, we were advised that it was the design of the seat, and that even if we wanted to replace these seats with the six way power seat for the same year we were advised that Ford and our insurance carrier would not allow it due to safety reasons. We have reached out to other police departments if they are having the same problem with these seats, and I am currently building a database of other departments.
