1 Seats problem of the 1993 Ford Crown Victoria

Failure Date: 08/02/2013

I bought a used 1993 Ford crown vic approximately 4 years ago, while I expected I would have to put money into repairs the one thing I didn't expect would be having to repair a seat mounting bracket due to poor workmanship & or materials. After looking on the internet at various sites I found that I'm not the only one this has happened to, many people have had the same problem with the seat frame shearing away from the bolts in crown vics. I tried contacting both the local Ford dealership & the corporate consumer affairs dept with no satisfatory resolution to this matter. This appears to be a serious defect flaw in crown vics that needs to be addressed as it can cause serious injury in an accident. I believe Mercury grand marquis also need to be looked at on this issue as I've seen some posts on the same problem with that make & model.

2 Seats problem of the 2011 Ford Crown Victoria

Failure Date: 05/01/2012

My police department issued me a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria around September of 2011. Ever since, I have spent countless hours adjusting the seat in an attempt to keep my mid-lower back from hurting. I learned that there is a metal bar installed in the seat causing the issues. Once the bar is adjusted, the seats aren't as bad. I also have had a great amount of trouble with neck pain. I have since had to see a doctor about this. The head rests that are in the vehicle are causing my head to be pushed forward and straining the muscles in my neck. I'm shocked to learn that this hasn't already been a recall for Ford.

4 Seats problem of the 1997 Ford Crown Victoria

Failure Date: 09/30/1999

Floor at attachment point of front seat anchor bolt has cracked so that the front seat can rock up and down (this is described in Ford TSB 98-24-5 for 1992-1997 Ford Crown Victorias); will this defect affect occupant's protection in a crash, as the seat is now permitted to move in a larger range of motion during an impact than its original design specifications? Ford TSB lists this repair as applicable under its bumper-to-bumper warranty, but this defect may exist in out-of-warranty vehicles as well.
