This was a police interceptor vehicle traveling at a speed of between 55 and 60mph. The right front wheel bearing had seized up and burnt the tire down until it blew, causing the vehicle to swerve into the ditch. Luckily the driver is okay and there was nobody on the shoulder of the road.

The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic who advised him that the left rear bearing and axle had fractured as well and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not been repaired. The contact owns a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria. While driving 25 mph or greater, the contact heard a rumbling noise coming from the rear passenger side of the vehicle. As of November 20, 2007, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a mechanic and he stated that the passenger side rear wheel bearing caused the failure.
