9:00 a. M. , on putting the car into reverse to back out of a space, the motor leaped into full acceleration with a loud roar. The car jumped backward about half a car length, while I jammed the brake pedal down as far as it would go, but the motor overcame the brakes. . The car jumped forward with a loud screeching of the tires and a cloud of blue smoke from the tires enveloping the car, before I was able to wrrestle the gearsshift out of forward into neutral. The motor instantly calmed down to idling speed and I was able to drive as usuall.

While starting the engine at a service station following filling with gas, my 2000 Ford Crown Victoria made a sudden surge forward when I placed the car in gear and turned the wheel to the right. Fast deceleration from 70-80 km hr over small washboard,caused the fuel reset button to come out, causing a stall. Loss of power brakes/steering. . . If you have heard of this before please let me know.

Pinging is experienced when the throttle is open all the way during acceleration. The recommended fuel for this vehicle is regular unleaded, which I use. When I use premium there is no pinging. This has been evident the entire time I have had this vehicle. I brought the vehicle in for this problem during the warranty period and was told that it was normal, this is not normal. After the 100,000-mi tune-up the problem was not evident until about 5000 mi afterward. There is a design flaw and possible misrepresentation if the vehicle was advertised as using regular unleaded and really should be using premium.
