Four problems related to engine and engine cooling have been reported for the 2006 Ford E-450. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle was started in garage, backed vehicle up and there was a loud explosion type noise. Mechanic said # 8 plug blew out causing major motor damage.
The engine quite several times, the last time the vehicle was totally dead and wouldn't restart. Also, the emergency flashers were inoperative.
Engine loss of power. Multiple times over the years requiring repairs that never resolved the issue. Ambulance service ended up having to pull from service because of frequency.
The school bus was on parked at 10:00 am at 1:15 pm our shop noticed smoke coming from the parking yard. They found the engine compartment and front of bus was on fire. The van was a total loss.
