My question is I’m getting ready to buy a 2007 Ford Edge for my mother and she’s already put three water pumps on this car and it cost like almost 1000 bucks to do it every time. I don’t even know if it’s worth it but I was just wondering if there’s any recalls on something like that or if it’s something wrong with why it keeps going keeps messing up.
While driving the air bag symbol and wrench appears on the dash, car starts losing power, and when shifting gears there's a hard shift and clunking noise. Videos on youtube show many people with the same issue some say it's a sensor issue. Output shaft speed sensor and turbine speed sensor.
When I bought my car on [xxx] I drove it home from hooksett nh from alfa car dealership tire pressure light came on battery light and the check engine light all came on and when I stopped and turned the car off all lights went off. I owned the car for two days and all of a sudden my car would not start it was fine went to drop my dog off and the car wouldn't start for a few hours this happened. When driving white smoke came out of the rear and I had an oil in the car. The car completely dies in the middle of the road and doesn't start all the oil is gone and there is a hole through my engine. 1. No dealership will not help in any way 2. P0301 misfire in the engine and p0201 fuel injecter both should be recalled on all 2007 Ford Edges as me and another lady both wrecked hitting a small poles and the business owners was nice and said to make it home safely since there was no damage. I have done plenty of research and Ford is refusing to do any recalls on the spark plugs in the engine and the fuel injecter. Please recalls those so no one gets seriously hurt from it.
My alternator keep draining my new batteries from to much electrical pull and turns off all my digital dash and says my brake system is in failure and there is something wrong with the suspension in the front end even though I have had it fixed and the same problem has returned . I had my battery explode. The transmission jerks whenever it shifts and the transmission fluid is full and I maintain it on a regular basis. It is driven in town only. I am scared of it catching on fire now since I just saw that it is still has a recall that has not been repaired and I bought it used and I was told all recalls were taken care of. I have my grandchildren in this vehicle weekly. I want to see about getting this looked at and repaired correctly. I fear for my safety.

On 11/7-22, I stopped at a major traffic light on my way to work and when the traffic light turned green and I motioned to drive forward, I noticed my car had stalled and proceeded to roll backwards in traffic. I quickly placed my foot on the gas pedal to move forward, however my car continued to roll backwards, almost hitting the vehicle behind me. So I immediately put on my emergency lights and pressed the brakes repeatedly, however my brakes were frozen (hard) and did not stop my car from rolling backwards. After several minutes, my car stopped rolling backwards and I was able to restart it and slowly drive off the major highway to get assistance. When driving off the highway my car was moving extremely slow and rough. Since the incident, my car have not been inspected or repaired by a mechanic. Prior to this incident, my car have stalled out at stops and while driving but never rolled backwards or lost brake control.
Ford oem water pump failing causing antifreeze to mix in oil, costly repair.
Took to local Ford dealer (hondru Ford) for shudder/jerking between 40/60 mph , the issue could not be duplicated by the dealer but it continues to be a problem. From my online research there are other complaints regarding the same issues. The Ford Edge is serviced routinely ,oil change etc.

My car was running rough using more gas got a coil code for my number 1 coil. Bchanged plugs etc. . Still running bad. Took it to Ford put on there computer and it came back as the pcm. Which can cause your car to catch fire to stop suddenky in middle of road use way more gas ruin all of your plugs and coils again. Why would Ford not fix this problem?why is this a problem?what if someone dies? then what? I have reiciepts upon reciiepts. Why are we the consumers the one who has to pay for your faults. I use my car for work. I take care of my cars and drive them like a lady should. No rough business in my car. Now I cant drive car because your pcm new is 1000 . This will forever discourage me from buying another Ford. I dont understand how you can just ignore what is going on with alot of Ford Edges. One would think that your reputation would be important to you. It is not the driver or owners fault it is whomever made these computers. It happens to Edges with low to high miles. It doesnt matter. Its faulty computer that you need to care of.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle lost power. The vehicle was restarted and began bucking. In addition, the check engine indicator was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the number three coil pack was damaged and the powertrain control module needed to be repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 84,500.
My 2007 Ford Edge at 77,291 mile had an ecm failure with coil failures (po351, po 352 & po354). This cost me $1079. 87 for the new ecm, and I replaced all coils for $264 ($44/each x 6). This Edge is the first Ford vehicle I have purchased, & it might be my last. I have always had gm products until now, & each of those vehicles I drove to over 200 k miles on them & never replaced the ecm or coils. I am reporting this in hopes to encourage Ford to place a recall on this vehicle to help off set my costs.
Had engine coil failure and pcm burnt up causing $1650 in damage repairs. This was unsafe since it happened while my daughter was driving through our town (oxford, ms) and could have resulted in an accident.
I bought my car a few years ago from a used car lot. I have had problems ever since. My breaks keep going, my transmission is slipping and the trimming around my windshield is falling out. I'm afraid the windshield is going to fly off. All I keep seeing ate problems with this car.

Engine shakes violently. Went to drive my vehicle to go to an appointment and noticed the engine ran different. When I started to move the vehicle the engine began to shake violently and it could be felt inside the car. The car then cut off, so I had to restart the vehicle. While driving the engine lost power and could not accelerate. I would remove foot off the gas pedal and the shaking subsides, but when you step on the gas pedal again the engine shakes violently again. Taking car to the dealership for a diagnoses, but from articles online there appears to be a pcm & coils, but no recall available for this reported complaint. The car shakes while I drove on the highway and local roads and while stationary.
Air bag recall needed. Also bad ignition coil, the engine misses a bit when climbing a hill.
I purchased this vehicle in 2016 with a open recall, the dealership failed to inform me about or fix prior to selling it. The vehicle has had several problems they refused to repair even though I purchased it from them. They are a gm dealership said they do not have the tools to make any repairs on the vehicle. This incident in question happened on 11-04-17 the car was sitting in my driveway and I noticed a puddle of gas under the car, the gas tank is what was leaking and there has been a open recall on it since 2014.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While driving various speeds, the vehicle experienced lack of power, rough engine operation, and the check engine indicator illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the cylinder two coil needed to be replaced because it was melted. The vehicle was repaired; however, within minutes, the failure recurred. The cylinder 2 coil needed to be replaced and the pcm needed to be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While the vehicle was being remedied per an unknown recall, the dealer observed that the ptu valve was fractured and leaking fluid. The vehicle was diagnosed, but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they do not take complaints. The contact was advised to call NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
The computer malfunctioned causing engine coils to burn. Ford did not extend the warranty for this common defect. But Ford did extend the warranty for the subsequent malfunction of the catalytic converter, which was caused by the 1st malfunction described.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle vibrated violently without warning after it was started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and three rear engine coils were replaced. In addition, the engine computer was damaged internally. The repair part was unavailable and placed on backorder. The failure occurred after the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 14v682000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,555.
While driving on a city street and on a state road transmission will act and sound like it is slipping or not engaging in gear and sometimes will only work in reverse. When problem occurs vehicle will lose all power and engine will rev up but vehicle will not move. I have had it towed to dealer and have taken it in to dealer, they say they cannot duplicate the the problem. They also told me that when it happens I need to pull over somewhere safe and shut the car off and let the "computer/ sensors " reset and that will "take care" of the problem. The problem is getting progressively worse as time goes on. I am afraid if this happens in traffic someone is going to get seriously hurt or killed as there is no power to get off the road and out of traffic.
At 60,000 miles transmission slipping. At 92,000 miles not engaging between 3rd and 4th gear. Cost to fix $3,000. At 65,000, water leaking front of on passenger side, spraying at times. Also fluild leaking on ground. Ford fixed. At 62,000 miles, heater went out. At 86,000 a/c went out. Cost to repair $2,800. At 84,000 miles ring broke on "boot". Cost to repair $350. At 91,000 miles ignition switch replaced. Ckeck engine stays on. Vehicle "clicks" and then dies. Biggest problem is when car will not start when, and when car refuses to get in gear when turning left.
My car started sputtering on freeway on christmas night. Smelled burning. Had it towed to my mechanic. He informed me ignition coils burned out. He replaced them but called today and informed me, car will run fine and then one or more coils will burn out again causing the problem. He looked complaints up online and found hundreds of them as I have also. We called the dealership to see if there was a recall on this issue because there were so many complaints but nothing. (I found out I had 2 other recalls I never got a notice for. . Great). . . Reading the complaints below from customers who has had the exact problem is worrisome because the dealership is aware of the issue but still has done nothing to fix this. My car is still in the shop. If this can only be fixed at the dealership as described by other complaints, I am screwed as this is very costly. Ford should be replacing this as this is a known issue. I never bought a Ford due to their reputation and I gave them a chance. I see why now . . . I only have 69,000 miles on it. . . .
The heater core fails approximately every two years causing the Edge to overheat. Ford has replaced the heater core three times and it failed again after 22 months, however, they are saying it is out of warranty now and they will not cover the cost of replacement. Ford is aware this is an issue with the 2007 model and has received other complaints. I am concerned the overheating might carry potential engine fire danger.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the service engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was remedied under NHTSA campaign number: 14v682000 ( fuel system, gasoline) however the failure recurred. In addition, the vehicle also operated abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the #6 coil pack, #3 coil pack, and the pcm needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 148,000.
Ignition coil malfunction (mis-firing) during highway speed driving causing loss of power, smoke and burning smell in engine and disabled vehicle. Mechanic discovered melted ignition coil and totally damaged/non-functional power train control module.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. Th contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 mph, the was an abnormal jerking vibration coming from the vehicle and the vehicle would not accelerate, the engine light warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that there was a burning odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle would not restart and the vehicle was taken to a mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed with a number two plug not firing and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified and the approximate mileage was 82,000. Rw.
I was driving my vehicle and noticed it jerking and hesitating to accelerate. The engine light became blinking rapidly and I noticed a burning smell. I took my car to a shop, who stated that one of the coils had melted and cracked. They replaced the coils and all spark plugs. Picked my vehicle up and still had the same issues, constant jerking, engine light still on, and still not wanting to accelerate. Took vehicle back the following day, shop stated the pcm was bad and needed to be replaced. I then contacted a local Ford dealership, who claimed they had never heard of this issue, and I would need to pay for them to run their own diagnostics on it, even though I was well aware of what was wrong with it. As of right now the car is still not fixed, and runs horribly. I refuse to spend anymore money on a problem that Ford is well aware of!!!.
I was driving my 2007 Ford Edge with 3 children in it when all of a sudden I lost the ability to not only accelerate but my speed suddenly fell from 45 miles an hour to 15 miles an hour without any ability to accelerate. My car was in a constant state of shaking and sputtering and increased when applying the brakes. There was something significantly wrong and it was pretty scary to experience particularly with 3 small children. I had the car towed to my automotive service company where the car's software system displayed codes indicating two ignition codes failed. Subsequently, the service provider replaced all the spark plugs and two coils. The car was not fixed and it was further determined that the pcm board is sending extremely high current to the ignition coils and could have caused an engine fire. This is very distressing. Ford has issued an internal TSB acknowledging this issue but has not enacted a recall. The estimated cost to replace the pcm, spark plugs and coils (6) is approximately $3,000. Additionally in my research there is a class action lawsuit that has been filed by a group of Ford owners.
