Brakes on my 2008 Ford Edge are making a hissing noise when depressed and do not stop the car unless I press the brakes all the way to the floor and even with that, the car does not stop completely, especially at high rates of speed. Took it to a mechanic to get new brake pads applied and was told it was the brake booster. I looked up a recall for the brake booster on this site only to find many complaints with the same problem but no recall.
