Electronic Stability Control problem #1

My braking system is malfunctioning while driving. It first appeared when the brake booster went bad on or around 2/6/2020 which I was never notified of by Ford as being a known problem so I had it replaced. Immediately after replacing that part on 2/9/2020 the brakes began to engage and stay engage while driving without depressing the brake pedal. This happened twice and the brakes would disengage once the vehicle was off for hours. Now on my way to the dealer 2/19/2020 my brakes were unresponsive and the brake pedal was soft and went all the way to the floor barely stopping the vehicle. This issue I was told by the dealer was due to my hydraulic control module going bad. Seem coincidental that this coincided with the booster going bad and no recall or extended warranty being offered for the known issue as I have read 100s of complaints of the same nature online. This is a tragedy waiting to happen and Ford doesn't seem to care.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

The front passenger door ajar light randomly comes on and stays on which keeps on the interior lights. Causing passengers to feel u safe as nd making it dangerous to drive at night and nearly impossible to back up. The parking lights come on and off a out of nowhere draining the battery which leaves it dead.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

I purchased the vehicle from legacy of Toyota in tallahassee FL on 10/23/2019 then 2 weeks later my advance trac light came on it will come on as soon as start my engine up and it will stay on for a while then go out, then it will come back on may be a couple days later. I have noticed something different when I am a red light while my foot is on the brakes I feel my foot coming up like it is being released and I have to push it back down. I have only had my vehicle for 35 days. I'm looking all the complaints on the internet with them same issues as mine and kind of scared to drive it. My mind concern not only is it safe but how much it is going to cost me and can be fixable. Sometimes when I am just sitting there it sounds like it just want to cut off because it jerks. But my major concern is that advance trac warning sign that comes up can you help me.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, when the anti lock brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the cruise control failed to function. The contact stated when turning the steering wheel to the right, she heard an abnormal noise coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to local dealer pallotta Ford Lincoln located at 4199 cleveland rd, wooster, OH 44691, (330) 345-6600, where it was diagnosed needing both front axle and front stab links to be replaced. The vehicle has not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer has not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 161,500. The VIN number was not available. Dp.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

The door ajar light intermittently stays on even when all doors are closed. The light stays illuminated while driving or stationary. It is now causing the car alarm to go off randomly at all hours. This is a safety concern to as the automatic door locking when putting the car in drives does not activate. I have read years of complaints on the Ford owner forums. It's time for Ford to issue a recall to fix the problem. It's obviously the door latch switch which costs $400. 00 to have replaced. Please help. My neighbors are very upset about being woken up at all hours, but I do not have $400. 00 to have the issues fixed. This has been happening on and off for over 2 years, ever since the odometer read over 50,000 miles.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

Passenger door ajar is on. The door is close. The light will not go off, and the dome lights stay on, until you drive for one minute, the dome lights go off, but door ajar stays on. My doors can't lock, when I'm driving, as long as the door ajar stays on. When I turn my car off, the dome lights stay on for 15 minutes, putting my battery in reserve. This is a safety hazard, because, small children in the back, could open the door, and also my battery will soon be going bad. I see a thousand of Ford Edge owners 2011-2015 have this same problem.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Door indicator light stay on interior lights stay on indicating that the driver side door is open when door is shut. Lights pop on at any rate of speed scary and extremely dangerous passenger side seat doesn't move at all sometimes the whole screen will go a dime white and blank during any rate of speed. Extremely dangerous.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

I have received faulty error messages on the vehicle, for example the other day I was driving down the road and the light came on like the car was overheated however there was no smoke coming from the car and the temperature gauge never moved up. My passenger car door light sensor says that there is a door ajar when all doors are closed whether the vehicle is stationary or driving along the city street. When I open the front passenger door and close it sometimes the inside lights remain on in the vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

I took a left turn to get onto the interstate on 7/30/18 at 7:45 am. When I started to accelerate to merge onto interstate without warning my car stalled and I was not able to accelerate. I was able to pull over thankfully and turn my emergency lights on. My car started to "jump" and was basically stalling out. I turned the car off and then after 5 minutes I was able to turn the car back on and it ran fine. I brought the car to my local Ford dealership and they kept it for two days. They tried to recreate the issue but were unable to and said they could not read the error on the computer because it had been "wiped" out when I restarted my car. They told me to come back when the car stalls again. I feel very unsafe driving a car that can stall out and lose power at any minute. I drive a 24 mile bridge with no shoulders daily and interstates. I do not feel safe driving my son around in this car. Ford will not do anything for me until the car stalls again. They told me not to turn it off and "limp" it to the dealership(drive it slowly).

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

When backing up I have the rear view camera but I do not have any guidance lines. I still do not have any.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

The morning of 4-3-2018 I went out and started my car. As I backed out of the garage the "door ajar" warning light came on. While driving I noticed the door latches did not lock. When I depressed the door lock button the latches closed then popped right back open, leaving all doors in an unsafe condition, unlocked. When the ignition switch is turned off the radio shuts immediately and dome lights remain on. I sprayed wd40 in the latching mechanism which did no good. This unsafe condition still exists.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

My service advance track light keeps appearing there was a recall on it about a year or two but will not be honored. . This is affecting my vehicle stability, traction, abs, and control of the vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

The aws light stays on and says the driver stability controls are not working properly. Took it to a Ford dealership for servicing, charged 800 plus and the issue is still occurring. They claim it's a sensor issue but it's still happening! if I turn left or right the warning light comes on, if it's wet or dry the light comes on and when breaking the SUV slides. Will never purchase another Ford again. Not sure of the actual date the issue started happening.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

On the highway my advanced service traction light came on and so did the abs light. Also my passenger door is shut but my light in my car is on and the door ajar warning code comes on with the door shut. And comes on while I'm driving and I have to pull over to try to get the light off.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

Driver side door ajar light stays on at all times.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

Mytouch screen will not allow me to change time, turn on heat for seats or choose between driver and passenger seats, adjust temperature in vehicle. Sometimes when trying to turn heat on seat, it will just change radio stations. Screen not sensitive to touch.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

The door ajar light won't go off.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

Intermittently, hazard lights come on while car is parked.

Electronic Stability Control problem #19

Received intermittent traction system warnings while driving 2011 Ford Edge and in addition to the warnings car drove very differently -like it was bogged down and acceleration was difficult. In order to correct the problem I pulled over and turned off car and then turned it back on - once I did that the warning was gone and the car drove normally again. This error would pop up randomly on different days and would be resolved with a power down and restart. Then another day I received awd warning and when this happened the power to the wheels seemed to disappear and the car seemed to just be rolling slowly so I hit the gas to accelerate and the car did nothing no acceleration. I pulled the car over and shut it off and turned it back on and the error was gone and the car drove normally. These errors scared me as I drive on the highway with my small kids and if it happened on the highway I am certain a car suddenly losing acceleration in highway traffic could lead to a crash/tragedy. I took the car in to a local Ford dealer and was told that the diagnostics did not show anything however through their research they determined that a software upgrade might resolve the problem. Why is this not a recall? I do not understand why I the customer am held responsible to pay for the labor for a software upgrade. If there is documentation to support that a software upgrade can resolve these issues and keep the customer safe should a recall not be issued to help prevent a customer losing power to their car and maybe resulting in a crash. I think this warrants an investigation. I hope I can at least put the word out there to other Ford owners to raise awareness and hopefully gain a recall so that no one is injured as a result of this.

Electronic Stability Control problem #20

Driver door ajar light stays on and wont go off after several attempts. Door is for sure shut and lights stay on and doors will not lock. This is dangerous, especially with small children in the car.

Electronic Stability Control problem #21

Alarm just goes off when vehicle is parked and no one is around. It even goes off in garage.

Electronic Stability Control problem #22

There are problems with the abs light stays on after driving or making a turn. The electronic stability controls when turning disable and only go off when the car is turned off. The transmission light stays illuminated and the doors do not close properly leaving the interior lights on running down my battery.

Electronic Stability Control problem #23

Driver's door ajar light stays on even when the door is closed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #24

The door ajar light stays on when all doors are closed and the interior lights stay on. Also I was not able to open the car with the security code from the outside the car I had to use the key. I was park when I first notice the passcode was not working then I used the key I closed all the doors and still said one door was open, so I make sure all were close. I realize there was something wrong so I just drove the car like that. Also I just bought the car so I don't know if that has happened before.

Electronic Stability Control problem #25

My car it over heating and any warning light or alarm active. I don't know the temperature for my car is high. The damage include the motor, refrigeration system, thermostat, fan. I can reclaimed anything?.

Electronic Stability Control problem #26

My driver side door indicator came on and at first it would take me a few times shutting the door for it come off. Now its to the point where it does not turn off and keeps the interior lights on until I drive forward a bit, then turn off. That's not good at night for sure. Now when my car is locked the panic alarm goes off all times of the day and night. I was driving down my driveway (thank goodness) one night and the lights turned on and the car started dinging for the door. Why is this something that is not recalled??? it is dangerous for the light to stay on at night and especially if my door really isn't latched. I don't see why I should have to pay something out of pocket that I didn't break or have control over breaking. Please help fix this. . . . . . . .

Electronic Stability Control problem #27

Vehicle cut out while driving in normal traffic conditions, awd off-wrench warning light came, vehicle was in a limp home condition. Next day attempt, same incident, awd light and then engine light on = code p2111. Throttle body and motor assembly.

Electronic Stability Control problem #28

Car wil gradually slow down leading to a complete stop. Power to the engine seems to decrease and speed slows. Happened 4 times over several weeks. It would happen then an hour later car would be completely fine and drive ok for a few days and then happen again. Happened when the car was driving at 30-50 mph on normal city streets (not highway) we took it to the dealer, where they identified the throttle body as the cause of the issue. Our VIN is not eligible for the replacement program though; which we do not understand - meets the year/make/model and characteristics of issue. Ever since we purchased the car we have also had lingering electrical issues - separate of the throttle body, that no one has been able to identify -- drive door light says open and it's not, taillights randomly flash when car is off and no one is in car, etc. We are thinking this one was just a dud. We also own another Ford Edge 2014 model - no issues. Car is currently being repaired for the throttle body issue. We can provide receipts / info once we pick it up. Called Ford and they said that vehicles identified for the recall were based on date of manufacture and location - they must've missed us.

Electronic Stability Control problem #29

Door ajar lights remains on. Door ajar light comes on when the door is not opened, alarm sounds multiple times per day.

Electronic Stability Control problem #30

I have no control over all things that are controlled through the touch screen: heat, a/c, audio, bluetooth and sync with other devices, , etc. It's black. I was told to disconnect the battery, let it sit for five minutes, hook it up and it will restart. No luck. Tried it again and let the battery unhooked over night, still nothing. It started about 2 months ago and would be out for a day or so but would finally come back on but not now it has been out for 2 weeks and I've tried this process over and over and nothing. Very frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #31

The 'door ajar' signal stays on even when the door is securly shut. This also causes the dome/interior lights to stay on. This also makes it so you can't fully lock up the car. After a certain amount of time this also causes the alarm to go off while the car is unattended. All of these things combined drains the battery, leaving us stranded. With a newborn and a toddler this is a major concern.

Electronic Stability Control problem #32

Door ajar warning light stays on while vehicle is running, making it impossible to lock doors while driving or stopped in traffic. When vehicle is parked, interior land exterior lights will turn on without reason. This causes the battery to drain frequently. If doors are locked while vehicle is parked, the car alarm will go off frequently.

Electronic Stability Control problem #33

In the spring of 2016 my 2011 Edge started to give me a door ajar warning when the driver door was actually closed. I took it into the dealer. They said they would have to replace the lock at a cost of over $700. I felt that was to much and decided to drive without fixing it. It is really hard to see at night when the light stays on. And when I try to lock the doors with the inside button they lock pops back open.

Electronic Stability Control problem #34

Driving to work about ten miles of highway, my car started running rough and shaking. I was able to coast into a parking lot then my heater stopped working a warning light came on "engine coolant temp" then it died completely in a matter of seconds, I saw some smoke under the hood so I called for help. There was no other warning whatsoever! the mechanic told us that the water pump had gone out and caused the engine to over heat. It shot coolant into the engine and it was totaled. Again there was absolutely no warning at all. No sensors no anything. I maintain my vehicle with regular oil changes etc. And if there had been any warning light I would have taken it to my mechanic immediately.

Electronic Stability Control problem #35

Driver door ajar sensor.

Electronic Stability Control problem #36

While driving 40 mph on a busy road, the car slowed on its own and stopped. I was unable to steer this vehicle. I restarted it four times; it would go for about 100 feet and then slow down to a stop once again. I feel fortunate no one ran into me. I consider this a very dangerous situation. I had the car towed to a Ford dealership (the one I purchased the vehicle from). They kept it for an entire week, seldom calling me to report what was wrong. Today I went to pick it up. Nothing had been done. They indicated they ran a computer check and found nothing wrong. I told my service person I feared driving it and needed to know what was wrong. His reply: "it could be anything. We just can't find it. " the other gentleman who worked there told me they were unaware of any recalls with the throttle body (I'd asked repeatedly about this) and told me it was not his job to know about recalls. I fear if I continue driving this vehicle, the problem will continue and I'll be in harm's way.

Electronic Stability Control problem #37

A door ajar but no door open. Latch key assembly had to be changed on driver's side front and now at 80,000 miles latch key change needing changed on passenger rear door. What will it take for Ford to recall this issue. Posted so many times here.

Electronic Stability Control problem #38

Car stalled twice. Previous complaint filed but I called after finding recall number 10s14. Claled Ford and they told me not covering my VIN even though situation is the exact same happenings. Your rep told me to file a new complaint becasue he coud not update the one previously submitted; odi number 10715241. He stated that they would investiage and psossible add my VIN to be covered under this recall.

Electronic Stability Control problem #39

Door adjar light stays on, even when the door is shut. Will not allow automatic door locks to latch. This is a danger to children in the back seat. Also, wears out the life of the battery. Interior light stay on for 3 min after driving, this makes it a hazard to see when driving.

Electronic Stability Control problem #40

I was driving on the highway with my 3 kids and my wife and as I got off the exit I noticed the car wasn't braking, so as I got to the first stop left I decided to turn left and see if I could fix the problem. As I was turning the sheering wheel locked up, brakes didn't brake then the car started to shake. I almost hit on coming traffic at 40 mil per hour. As soon as the car bypassed on coming traffic a had to restart my car and it was fine. As soon as I got home, it happened again. I was about 2ft from hitting my garage door.

Electronic Stability Control problem #41

Driver's & left back door ajar signal stays on when door is closed. Some noise appears when handin out the steering.

Electronic Stability Control problem #42

The left drivers door sensor remains on after the door is closed or locked. The indoor lights remain on for several minutes after the door is locked when the car is either tuned off or on. The lights turn on periodically when the car is turned off. The doors cannot be locked when the car is running.

Electronic Stability Control problem #43

Driving on I-65 in an area with 4-5 lanes of traffic with a speed zone of 65 mph when the vehicle lost power - wrench light warning light came on - had to maneuver the vehicle across 3 lanes of traffic during rush hour to reach the emergency lane. It was sheer luck that I made it to the emergency lane without being hit by another vehicle as I could not speed up the car and the speed was nearing zero mph. The vehicle had to be towed into the dealership where it was diagnosed and eventually repaired under warranty. It took the dealership approximately one week to repair the power train issue. Per my research on various Ford Edge sites, this is a very common occurrence and Ford has failed to recall this issue. Luckily, I was not harmed. However, not everyone will be this fortunate. Ford needs to recall this issue ASAP.

Electronic Stability Control problem #44

The power steering does not work properly at low speeds. This is identfied in Ford's TSB 10-21-1 steering the vehicle is very difficult. I'm concerned that the ability to properly control the vehicle at low or high speeds may become a problem. This is a major safety concern. By issuing a TSB, I believe Ford is acknowledging that there is a potential safety problem with the power steering system - a major component of vehicle safety. The advancetrac (stability/anti-rollover system) appears to have failed indicated by the warning lights on the dash. Intermittently, the warning light turns on and then off while driving or parked with engine idling. Based on numerous occasions, I believe there is a fault in the stability system. Ford technicians cannot replicate the problem. Many other owners appear to be having the same issue with the Ford Edge and f-150 trucks among other Ford vehicles. The fuel system displays a warning that the fuel inlet requires checking due to a vapor leak. Ford replaced a traditional fuel cap assembly with a capless system which appears to not seal fully or allows debris to keep the system from remaining fully sealed. There appears to be many other owners who experience this same warning light with a malfunction indicator light illuminated that cannot be turned off. If fuel vapor is leaking, there is risk of vehicle fire or explosion.
