While driving in the city was breaking to turn and the pedal compressed all the way to the floor. New rotators, brake pads and tires are on the vehicle and could have caused a major accident. Why has Ford not stepped up and made this recall? I'm scared to drive this vehicle or even put my family in it. Now it just sits parked.
91k miles and my brake pedal goes to the floor. Brake pads are 50%, no leaking or contaminated brake fluid. Does it in every driving condition, forward, reverse, and all speeds.
My wife's 2011 Ford Edge brake pedal goes to floor when trying to stop. Problem is intermittent and brakes go back to working normal. This has happened multiple times with my wife driving and twice while I was driving. Brake booster was already replaced under recall. I don't think the booster is bad again. I think it is a abs issue. The brake pads are in good shape and the reservoir is full. I have read multiple complaints about this issue. Ford needs to tak responsibility and fix this before someone is injured or killed.
While driving the brake pedal began get hard and not depressing applying enough pressure the the brake pads. The harder you push the better they worked so determined the brake booster had failed. The problem was intermittent at first and then became regular. Called Ford service to find out they had extended the warranty on this part but did not do a recall. This is a dangerous part to have fail intermittently as it could go from needing a 100 feet to stop to 100 yards.
Slowing at a stop and depressed breaks. Breaks did not engage pedal became very hard to push vehicle rolled through stop. Let off braked and depressed again and breaks slowly engaged. This happened several times before I could get home to park vehicle. Did not happen at higher speeds only 30mph and below. Checked break fluid level, ok. Pulled wheel and break pads were fine. Will be contacting dealer to see if service advisorys have been issued.
While backing out of a parking space, the brake pedal was hard to push and the vehicle was slow to stop. The car started to stall and a warning "low engine oil pressure" was displayed, then the car recovered when in drive. Approximately a week later, the brakes were again hard to push while backing out of a parking space. In the following week, the same issue occurred multiple times. Last week, the brakes became hard to push and the vehicle was slow to stop while in drive. I have parked the car until service can be performed. Fluids and brake pads have been checked and are not the issue. In searching the web and various Ford forums, and speaking with a mechanic, it appears to be a brake booster issue. The car is a 2011 model with <24,000 miles and is three months out of manufacturers warranty.
