The aws light stays on and says the driver stability controls are not working properly. Took it to a Ford dealership for servicing, charged 800 plus and the issue is still occurring. They claim it's a sensor issue but it's still happening! if I turn left or right the warning light comes on, if it's wet or dry the light comes on and when breaking the SUV slides. Will never purchase another Ford again. Not sure of the actual date the issue started happening.
The driver side door sensor is bad. The vehicle is unsafe because the sensor remains on all the time even when the door is closed. So if the door is ever open, you would not know because all the sensors are bad so you assume it is just an error message. Also - on this vehicle - the brakes feel spongy at times and are not good, even though having the brakes looked at and they have checked as confirmed sound with new rotors and pads.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the door ajar warning light illuminated even though all the doors were closed. As a result, the contact was unable to lock the doors. The interior dome light remained illuminated and caused the battery to drain. In addition, the contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to function. The contact had to pump the brake pedal in order to stop the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired per a voluntary recall by the manufacturer; however, the failure recurred. The dealer diagnosed that the door latch and sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 30,000.
