The back glass section of my panoramic sunroof exploded as I was driving. There was no debris on the road and no other vehicles around.
When driving I would hear clunking noises, when turning and breaking. My air bags sensor ideally off, and I'm experiencing electrical issues.
While driving on the express way, an orange wrench light appeared, and the car lost power. Very dangerous. I was barely able to safely pull over and cut the car off.
Rear hatch will open up randomly, no rhyme or reason. Usually only happens when parked. I believe it may be a key fob issue, but can't be certain.
Door latch, when vehicle hit 122,000 got a safety bulletin extending warranty on vehicle door latch to 120,000 mile my vehicle was at 122,000 at the time. Now there is a recall on door matches in question but Ford Edges are not included in this recall? almost every time I close my door my door ajar light continues to stay on unless I slam my door with a ridiculous amount of force 4 or 5 times.
All door sensors needed replacing. The front interface display module needed to be replaced because the hazard lights came on for no reasons and couldn't be turned off. Rear view camera doesn't work. Front hood needs painting from poor clear coat. It took one month for Ford to get the fidm. Numerous recalls but Ford said they don't apply to the Ford Edge. As a family we have a Ford Edge, f-150 lariat, escape, explorer and a f-250. This is current and not including all the other vehicles we had from Ford.
Back up camera fails and is not available for use.
My oil light keeps coming on and I just got an oil change on 2-10-2020. It doesn't come on until certain moments when I press the brakes or when I'm stationary (for example at a stop light).
While driving at 35 mph, my emergency hazards came on by themselves. Will not turn off by touching hazard button, or pulling battery terminal. Took to a mechanic who said my body contol module is faulty, and wont read any codes. Need to take to dealership for faulty bcm.
While sitting in stop[ and go traffic a warning is issued that the engine is overheating! I turn on the heater while driving and the notice goes off! when I approach the car the rear tailgate door opens and at times I can't lock the doors after parking the car! some times a notice of oil pressure is low while driving!.
Backup camera view is upside down, when backing, causing distortion.
Have been having issues with passenger rear door latch showing door is open when it's not. This is the same issue we've had a few times with the front driver door latch with illuminated dome lights. The driver door issue has finally been acknowledged by Ford, and they issued a customer satisfaction program alert in January 2020, 19n09, which will cover the cost of fixing that problem or reimbursement of costs by owners who paid to fix on their own. However, I have the same issue with rear passenger door, and Ford (joyce from online cust. Service) said that's not a covered event. Why does it take Ford so long to address safety issues?.
This car as Ford's I've had in the past is the coolant system it's really bad. I've gotten fan n thermostat put in and it still getting hot.
Panoramic vista roof will not close. Vehicle was stationary. I have researched the issue and thousands of Ford owners are affected.
Back up camera stopped working. Message appears saying " camera unavailable please contact dealer" when placed in reverse.
Rearview camera screen is blank or scrambled 98% of the time. The backup sensor has also stopped working. This does not allow me to utilize the safety features for parking or reversing. This issue has been found in newer models of my vehicle and those are currently being recalled. There is no warning for the rearview camera screen, but sometimes it does say that the camera is not available. This issue has been ongoing for years.
The interior dome light stays on and door-ajar light for the driver/passenger doors. I have opened and shut the doors gently several times and the light will stay on for at least 50 mins. Sometimes, the light pops on when the car has been sitting in park.
Throttle body issue - vehicle turns on and is able to drive, but wrench symbol appears on dashboard and the car goes limp; unable to accelerate at all. This happens while you are driving! according to Ford, it is an issue with the throttle body. Cost of fix at local mechanic is $330 for the part and $285+ for labor.
I was driving home from work at approximately 40 mph when an orange wrench popped on my screen and with no warning my car started jerking and sputtering and then quit working and completely decelerated like I had switched my car in neutral. I pressed the gas and nothing happened when I was in the middle of an intersection! I was able to get my car out of the roadway using some of my momentum but I was lucky I was not on an interstate or somewhere else. I was told my throttle body needs replacing. I looked into this issues with the 2011 Edge and apparently there was a notice put out on this throttle body in other vehicles for causing the same problem and leading to very dangerous situations, however mine wasn't included even though I had the exact same problem. I take great care of my car - oil changes every 5,000 miles and special maintenance when necessary and it doesn't even have 100,000 miles on it.
The "door ajar" warning is being displayed and despite slamming the door as hard as possible. This warning is a red herring since the problem is really the malfunctioning door lock. When the warning is there, I cannot lock the door. The quotes to fix this are raning from $350 to $500. I cannot use the car if I cannot lock that car. I also do not know : 1. If I happen to get it locked, will it unlock. If it doesn't unlock I will be stranded. And 2) if the door is truly ajar because the lock is faling in some manner, risk of the door opening unexpectedly exists. Therefore I have stopped driving my Edge. This problem happens when I start the car. The problem has been happening continually for about a week (since about 9/10/2018).
I was driving to work when I heard a loud boom. At first I thought I had blown a tire, but my vehicle was not shaking like I had, I looked in the back seat to make sure my son was ok and that is when I noticed my sun roof had shattered. Nothing hit it, it just shattered on its own.
I was driving down the road taking my child to daycare and then going to work like we do every day, when the vehicle stopped accelerating. It didn't die, but it just wouldn't let me accelerate anymore. I had to turn on my hazard lights and get off the road as best as I could seeing as how there was no shoulder for me to pull over on. I put the vehicle in park and restarted it and it drove fine after that. I've looked up many other complaints about this same issue so I'm worried that it will continue happening and we might not be so lucky the next time. Of course I just surpassed my 100,000 warranty so there's no telling what it will cost to fix it. Surely Ford knows this is an issue that thousands of their customers with this same vehicle are having. I'm not sure why they haven't done anything about it yet.
Door ajar light has been coming on. You have to open and close door several times. Doors will not lock. I drove my car with light on as I could not get it too go off. My door opened while driving down the highway. I could have been seriously hurt. Not to mention it's dangerous that the door doesn't lock upon getting in it, if you were trying to get away from a bad situation. This has been on going problem with my car for over a month.
My engine turned off while I was driving. I was slowing to a stop from 55mph to approx. 20mph to go straight at a red light. The light turned green before I came to a stop. When I pressed the gas to accelerate the engine turned off and all systems in the car did as well including power steering. I had no control of the car as it slowed to almost a stop in the middle of the intersection on a green light. I was luckily to able to coast at approx. 5pmh to the end of the intersection before it completely stopped and the car behind me didn't hit me, they went around. I had to get help pushing it to the side of the road after that to avoid an accident since it stopped in the road. When the engine failed the dash lit up with a picture of the engine and said to check power to engine. There was no warning beforehand. I do all my oil changes and regular maintenance. There was no check engine light or any other indicator that something would have been wrong. After this incident and getting the car home it now has a check engine light and won't run correctly. We changed the battery due to the wording about engine power and that didn't help. What I am most concerned and upset about is after this happened we looked the problem up online and it is has happened to hundreds of other people. If any other problems happened that many times that caused injuries this would be a recall and corrected immediately. But because out of luck I was on a rural 1 stop light road and no cars hit me as my vehicle completely failed on me, it isn't. I've received no notices and bought it used from a dealer. I commute to work every day and I am so thankful this wasn't on a work day on the freeway where it would have caused me to completely stop. Or dropping off my kids to school. I am honestly scared to get it 'fixed' and it happen again with no warning. Or put my kids in a car that puts us in danger.
For almost 2 years my passenger door says open and leaves light on killing my battery and the door is closed.
2011 Ford Edge doors will not lock in drive when door adjar light is on - sensor issue with Ford vehicles in door - faulty door adjar switch when on will not let you lock doors and will not auto lock when putting in drive.
I am having problems with my 2011 Ford Edge with the safety latch - auto door latch will not engage, keeps opening up when in drive along with the interior door adjar light staying on - this happens in hot weather as well as cold in minnesota - I cannot lock the vehicle, and door lock keeps opening while driving causing a safety hazard.
My 2011 Ford Edge limited turns off if a traffic light last longer than 30 seconds, then I have to quickly put the car in park and restart it. This morning it turned off on me while going 70 mph on a busy highway!! when I got to my office this morning I was shaking so I took to the internet to see if I could find any information about this. I was surprised to find one page after another regarding this same issue! I've read close to 500 similiar complaints so far this morning and many many more left to read by people with the exact same problem! how hasn't Ford or your agency not issue a recall. This is criminal and a total disgrace to Ford and your agency if you too are hiding something! this will, if it hasn't already, get someone killed!!.
As I'm driving down the road my car just decides to turn off, when I had it towed to the dealer they couldn't find a problem. It has happen several times and I've only had the car 3 months :(.
The passenger door ajar light comes on even after the door is closed, and the even if the car is turned off and the doors locked it will act like the door comes open and set the alarm off and or turn the interior lights on causing the battery to die. It happens continuously everyday.
The door ajar light is constantly on causing the interior lights to stay on after you get out of car and while you are driving. Also the car locks will not lock while driving the car and you can't leave the key in the ignition while parked but staying in the car. A bell will just keep ringing until you remove the key.
The " driver door ajar" light is constantly on even thought the door isn't ajar. Because of this, I am unable to lock my doors when the key is in the ignition. This is a huge safety concern .
Door ajar issue. Even when all doors shut, slammed shut, closed nicely, shows as driver door ajar. This is also when locking the car and arming the alarm.
The door ajar light remains on for the passenger door when door is closed and prevents the door from locking while driving.
The door ajar warning light is always on. Creates visability issue at night because interior light on and car wont lock . I see many complaints about this as well.
