The door latch light stays on durning drive time, it prevents locked doors and light on mirrors and interior light stay on. I have read there is multiple Ford Edge drivers with same saftety issue. This needs to be resolved its very dangerouse driving hazard it prevents door from locking during high speeds.
The driver door latch is defective thus failing to notify the sensor that the door is actually closed. The door, although closed, registers open. The door ajar warning sounds on the dash board, dome lights stay on and doors do not lock. I am concerned that the defective latch may affect airbag deployment because the doors intermittently fail to lock. I began searching Ford forums only to find that this is an issue for many Ford owners. I contacted Ford motor corporation only to be informed that they knew nothing of this issue. It would be appropriate for Ford to acknowledge this issue, repair the faulty part at their expense, and continue to follow industry standards best practices.
Door ajar sensor has failed causing the door ajar warning to stay on, dome lites and parking lites stay on as well after parking. Doors will not lock when driving, causing a huge safety concern for myself and passengers.
