1 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2017

At 60,000 miles my 2014 Ford Edge master cylinder failed while driving at around 10 mph on my street as I was getting ready to park which effected braking. This caused me to hit the high concrete curb in front of my house and mess up my front bumper. I ended up having to pull the lower bumper cover off to keep it from dragging the ground. The master doesn't completely fail though, it works for about a dozen stops and then the pedal gets soft for one stop. Upon calling Ford this is one of the VIN numbers that is not covered under the recall. I don't understand how there are so many failures of the brake booster and master cylinder with a lot of Ford models that have the same engine, but I'm suppose to believe they got the problem fixed before my vehicles. . . I have a feeling that as vehicles start to hit the same mileage around my year there will be a lot more of these issues popping up.
