The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that when making left or right turns the steering wheel started to grind and knock. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the electric power steering system (eps) failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the recall was previously repaired and to contact the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately130,000.
