I was driving on a country road and had my cruise control set to 55. My car braked hard and DE-accelerated to about 40 and then increased the speed without hitting the resume button. My 89 year old mother was my passenger in the car with me and both of us were jolted when the seat belts locked up. We both gasped as we were startled by this action. There were no animals, vehicles or blowing debris across the path of my car. No messages appeared on my dash. I have not reported this to my Ford dealer and the car is available to be checked. This was a one time event. If a police officer had been behind me I would have received a ticket for brake checking.

I have a 2013 Ford Edge. Mileage approx 55,000 miles. All scheduled maintenance was up to date. In July 2023, while driving, car started to decelerate. No noises, smells or loss of steering. It was as if my gas pedal just stopped working. My dash had a warning to refer to owners manual. I thank the lord there was a break in traffic and I could "coast" to the emergency lane. I shut off the car, restarted it and everything was fine. Took it to my repair shop, they did a fuel injection cleaner and said. . . See how it goes. Cost: 150. 00. 5 weeks later, August 2023 the same thing happened. Went back to repair shop where they diagnosed I needed a throttle body assembly replacement. Tack on another 450. 00 bill. In both cases the power loss could have resulted in an accident with bodily injuries. My complaint about the Ford throttle body is not the first, a recall should be issued!.

While during my 2016 Ford Edge to my daughters house, started going up a hill and as I was attempting to accelerate my speed kept reducing. When I returned home my husband took my car to an independent mechanic who ran diagnostic test which showed cylinder 2 misfiring. Upon further inspection coolant level was low but no leaks were noted. Mechanic stated water pump needed to be replaced to prevent further possible damage to engine. Called local Ford dealer to see if they could confirm diagnosis, we were told to diagnose they would charge 165. Unfortunately on a fixed income and cannot afford! after researching this problem online it appears this is a common issue with 2016 Ford Edge and while there was a recall issue on some 2016 Ford automobiles with the same issues, ours is not included!? I believe this should be recalled as it appears this was a known issue with Ford cars, especially the ecoboost, which is what we have.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard a rattling sound under the hood of the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to auto zone where it was placed on a diagnostic machine and the contact was informed that the vapor canister was faulty. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine long block had cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that prior to the failure, she had notified the dealer that she had lightly tapped the accelerator pedal however, the vehicle quickly accelerated without warning. The contact applied extra pressure on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle however, the contact lightly struck the bumper of another vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was previously included in the customer satisfaction program for 22n12 and NHTSA campaign number: 22v413000 (power train). The contact stated that on another occasion after refueling the vehicle, she noticed that the fuel gauge reading failed to display correctly. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty, and no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
Sudden and total loss of power while driving vehicle in traffic. There was warning, no engine light and there are no codes to diagnose. This is a life-threatening hazard and should be addressed and not dismissed by Ford. Some say it could be several solutions to the problem but the main solution has been the throttle position switch and throttle body assembly. This is a manufacturing issue and should be consider a recall fix with no cost to the owner.

Started months ago on the highway, now in the streets too. Press the gas, car goes then suddenly loses power. Going at 60 mph on highway, car suddenly starts to go slow, and pressing the gas doesn't move the car not even a mile higher. Semi trucks begin to honk horns at you. Afraid now to take highway again. Soon as I exit highway, press the gas and the car doesn't want to shift, almost as if it gets stuck. Continue driving on street and when turning, the car doesn't want to go. Ford had it for 3 days but didn't find anything. Have read posts and found one person with same issue that said it's code 2111, having to do with the throttle. So many people with the same issue and no recalls. It's dangerous to drive on highway now.
The start/stop technology works from time to time. Example. At a complete stop icon appears and show’s technology off- the device is not off. At times the technology will engage at a complete stop then suddenly turns off with in seconds. At times when this device is on one can hear a rattling noise. When leaving from a complete stop and applying the gas petal lightly the vehicle jumps/hop roughly 6” to 1’ without adding additional pressure to the gas petal. When using the advanced cruise control with no vehicle in front of mine and have set the mileage which can been seen on the control panel the vehicle will keep the mileage speed for 3-6 seconds then decrease in speed up to 10-12 miles. If applying the brake when using cruise control and re-engage the speed (res button) the vehicle speeds up continuously at a very fast unsafe pace. The advance lane shift will warn me (turn red based on which lane it thinks I have crossed) I have steered out of my lane (low setting) but haven’t cross any lanes. Will use turn signals to change lane and lane shift turns red again to inform me I have steered out of my lane. This should not happen. Back up camera at times screen is black. Rear sensors when backing up even with large objects (persons- adult, another vehicle, garbage truck) will not notify me of objects. Now I can see the objects and don’t proceed but the sensors don’t go off and there are four. Brought vehicle to akins Ford in GA. Went for observation ride. The foreman noticed many issues including cruise control, after braking- SUV leaping, sensors, backup camera. But felt there were no safety issues.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph and approaching a stop light, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
I'm getting warning lights on the dash that indicated that abs, traction control, cruise control and collision mitigation are inoperable. The dealership service dept. Had the vehicle for over 2 weeks trying to diagnose the problem in conjunction with Ford engineers. They finally determined the the issue was a bad abs module. They then informed me that the needed parts were not available and it might take 2weeks, 2months or longer to get. This condition has existed since the day the car was delivered. As of now, the car has about 600 miles on it. We're reluctant to drive the car because we feel the vehicle is unsafe, particularly in winter road conditions. We are at a loss as to how to proceed and are hoping you cab help us resolve this problem. Thank you, dave richards 1958a bender park blvd. , lynden, wa 98264 360-393-6700 jdgmint@gmail. Com.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21v158 (air bags) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount time. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that she will be notified when parts are available. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Additionally, the contact stated that she heard a hissing noise when the brake pedal was depressed and without warning, more pressure had to be applied to the brake pedal to stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake booster and brake pads needed to be replaced. The brake pads were replaced however, the brake booster was not replaced. The manufacturer nor the dealer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately. 192,000.

Experienced harsh upshift and downshift causing vehicle to come to rigid stop and eventually loosing the ability to reverse. This is a serious safety concern to not only myself, but others on the road as my vehicle would not accelerate when coming to a complete stop at a stop sign or a red light, thus putting myself and others at risk of an accident. There were no warning lamps or messages that illuminated either on the dash or on the Fordpass application to inform me of any issues that would require maintenance. My vehicle has been brought to a mechanic shop as I was told that the transmission needed to be replaced.
I am told my apim module needs to be replaced. My touch screen will go black and then come back on. I am unable to use handsfree phone due to system not staying connected to my bluetooth. The radio will not turn off or on and sometimes will come on and be blaring while driving. The gps does not work at all and if it decides to even show up on the screen will not follow streets at all. The warning sounds and lights will go off randomly while driving even if I am not close to something on the sides of my car. My backup cameras do not work all the time. The cruise control will not keep distance and will stop working randomly. The entire touch screen will not respond to any touch. These items are very distracting and unsafe at best. There has been no accidents to cause these problems. The manufacturer has not been able to help me locate any replacement parts despite pre-paying for the expensive module. I have been waiting 6 weeks without anyone being able to tell me when a module is expected. Meanwhile I do not know what else will stop working on my car. Ford has had a history of problems with the apim modules and there was even a class action suit that was won by the consumer for the same thing in Lincoln vehicles. I just want the part and for my car to be fixed.
In Feb 2022 my dash produced a pre-collision assist not avaible and also a adaptive cruise not available sensor blocked see manual. When I tried to tap the button for cruise control it would show set speed , but wouldn't let me . I called ricart Ford in ohio and took it to them . They said it was the cruise control manual bracket had been damaged by outside force( a rock) and Ford wouldn't fix it. Mind you I have never hit anything with this vehicle. Ricart refused todo anything so I contacted Ford and they said take it to a different dealership . Took it to donley inohio they said a bird. Now the screen gltiches, the front camera doesn't work , the hatch will open and shut multiple times and when shutting the moon roof it will stop and go back . Then it made a sound and sounded like the gearbox, also car alarm went off , while running in park , nothing touching keys. Also the all wheel drive light will come on and say dissabled.

Stability control system keeps coming on.
Have had issues from day one. Lane centering hugs middle line, back up camera is black at times, when in drive screen is blank, all tools on steering have went out including turn signals, cruse control, collision avoidance flashes when no one is in front of me, brakes due to collision avoidance malfunction etc. In November 2021 car was in park ( know that for sure it was in park and not moving as fed ex came for delivery and walked around back of car to get package before accident) and rolled to front pinning me and breaking pelvis and back. During this incident the safety failed in park, anti collie on failed, 9 days in hospital and months of rehab. Again coming back from doctor lost steering controls. 7 weeks in shop and many calls to dealer and Ford motor they replaced main wiring harness stating to me in an email and in person this was the cause of all issues including the roll over. Just got car back on 6/17/22. Shall see if this fixes problem but I don’t even want to drive this car anymore! total miles to date 17,000.

Transmission, coolant infusion to engine emissions, long block torqu converter failed even though I had multiple appointments to have this and the other recalls done they always canceled the appointments due to lack of parts or they were backed up in the service department. I had the majority of all (the works) oil changes done at the dealership unless they were weeks out, I complained of engine running hot and knocking sounds back in 2021, needed to be jumped every few months 2022 I was always told this was normal for a Edge ecoboost with the cold weather package, they did check the battery which was fine, when the engine light came on I took it right in only to be told to make a appointment, soon after I started to lose power going up sm hills, I was told I needed new tires after this oil change and I even ended up with a nail in my time from their repair shop, 3 weeks later no engine light denied my appointment, tried to show codes from local repair shop I waa told its normal make a appointment, I questioned if its safe to drive I was told yes absolutely engine light back on the next day took it back in again told to make a appointment 2. 5 weeks later no engine light on but I showed them the codes I was pulling for miss firing that I pulled multiple times at different intervals when I felt something was wrong but they didn't have a appointment to check themselves I was then told my computer reader was not accepted due to inaccurate readings made yet another attempt for a appointment, the next day I get in my car and start driving and I get a warning the car was reducing power due to over heating. It took 2 different tow trucks to get it to the dealership I have been complaining about these issues for well over 2 years only to be told I don't know what I am talking about or that it was perfectly normal if its so "normal" then why do they have a customer satisfaction program 22n12 that list my car yet denied me any assistance besides paying for the recall issues.
Here we are years later and still the same issues. . . . Loss of power without warning, shuts off with no warning. Bangs when shifting, very rough shifting. Feels like its in 1st gear and then shifts roughly into gear, or I have to stop shut it off and start again. I see alot of the same complaint and no recall? its gettin stupid now! this should be recalled, it is a safety issue!.

Tl-the contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. That contact stated that pulling into a parking lot space to park. The vehicle accelerator pedal stalled without warning as the vehicle shot forward. Causing the contact to crash into the vehicle infront. The contact try to depressed the brake pedal as the accelerator pedal failed to release. Causing the contact to loss control of the vehicle. The vehicle crashed into the 2nd vehicle as the vehicle accelerated forward across the street into a tree where it came to a complete stop. No airbags deployed. The first individual in the vehicle sustained injuries to the pelvic bone (fracture). The contact sustained minor injuries concussion. A police report was made. The other individual was taken to the hospital by medical attention. The vehicle was towed to the body shop where at this time is awaiting estimates for damages by insurance company. No dealer or manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. Ck.
While driving on the highway the speedometer drops to 0, wrench light and airbag light turns on. Car losses power and keeps running. To move at all requires reving the engine to very high rpms.
It started stalling, and losing power while driving. When the ac is turned on it started driving rough at low speeds but when the ac is off it runs rough at high speeds. The throttle body seems to beessed up it now runs rough and idles rough. It's almost like it doesn't have the correct fuel to air ratio.
1st occurrence was when I was driving on the interstate and the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating and went into limp mode (a wrench was displayed on the dashboard). I was not able to accelerate at all and had to pull off the interstate. Turned off the vehicle and turned it back on and the wrench and check engine light was off. This now occurs every day and is a safety issue, it happened when I was making a turn at a busy intersection and almost ended up in another driver hitting me as I had no power to accelerate out of the way. In researching the issue I believe it is due to a faulty throttle body control but am unable to diagnose it since the check engine light and thus error code goes away with every restart. . . At the very least it should tell me what the last error code was.

My car has completely shut off while driving 70 mph on the highway!! a wrench icon lights up on the dash board. I can barely coast to the side of the road before car comes to a complete stop. I was sooo afraid of being killed! the mechanic checked and says there is nothing wrong with my car. It has happened 4 more times. The car starts up after I can put it in park and drives like nothing happened until the next incident. Who will have to die before Ford finds the problem?.
While driving in town car lost power and limped along. Yellow/orange wrench light came on. Pulled over turned engine off then restarted, worked fine. Manual said power train loss of power. Three times it's happened and Ford can't find code to determine problem. No confidence in car. If happened on highway at high speeds there probably would have been major accident.
On several occasions I have been driving when suddenly my car loses power and enters limp-home mode and a wrench flashes on the dash that says see manual. This seems to be a common issue affecting the electronic throttle body on Fords made around the same year. This has happened to me turning in the middle of an intersection and while trying to accelerate on the highway which could easily lead to an accident.
From a stop or at low speeds the SUV lunges forward without warning. This has happened several times over the past few months. When SUV was purchased new; the transmission failed and I was without a car for theee weeks. I have maintained the SUV and all issued recalls have been fixed. This is a major issue and anytime I take it to Ford dealership they find no issue. Let me tell you; this is an issue! my last three vehicles have been Fords and would appriciate this issue be solved.
Speedometer dropped to 0 wrench light came on car had almost no power made loud noise then airbag light came on and tire pressure warning.
The car accelerated while I was braking while parking on the street, this problem is reoccurring. I also constantly get a warning that my car is overheating while the bar line is on cold. I tried putting anti freeze and it doesn't help. The car also turned off at a green light when I turned on my air conditioner. Lastly I got a warning that my oil pressure is low although I just got an oil and filter change the day before. Please do a recall for these things. I have a child and it is very unwise to put him in any danger by being in this car.

This has happened on at least 6 occasions int he last week. Most recently I was traveling on a highway at approx. 50mph when the engine entered a default low power state and the check engine light illuminated. I was able to pull onto the shoulder and the car behind me was able to avoid a collision by slamming on their brakes. Additionally, the car consistently presents symptoms of rough idle, rough engine running at normal speeds, and a highly decreased fuel economy. After pulling the odbii codes and some research, this appears to be a known problem with the car's throttle body assembly. The odbii code is p2111.
Ford Edge loud clunk when put into gear an when in gear you have to put it to the floor to get the car to move an really high rpm. Dash lights will come on flash an act all crazy. Faster to walk cuz the car won't go. Will do it at a stop or just random going down the road. Have to get off the road quick or it will stop I the middle of the road.
Happens every time I brake. Hitting the brake to stop engine shakes violently as I come to a stop. In addition to violent engine shaking the car is thrusting forward. I have to put my foot harder on the brake not to hit the vehicle in front of me. I will have to throw it in neutral to stop the shaking. In neutral the engine revs. When traffic begins to move I have to put it back in drive and hit the gas but then it lags severely. It won't go anywhere for multiple seconds before it finally takes off. That literally happens everytime I stop and go. If you are in park and have your foot on the brake too long before putting in a gear it stalls out. I have taken it to the Ford dealership and opened a case with Ford corporation who both deemed the vehicle unsafe, but neither want to take care of the issue. This issue has been going on for months. I've taken it to the Ford dealership twice and Ford has denied to assist with getting it fixed twice. There are so many unsafe 2017 Ford Edge transmissions. I wish they would have to pay for this. It's very scary to drive. My documents are in the Ford computer system. They say the whole transmission locks up and rhe whole transmission needs replaced. I've almost been hit so many times pulling out because the car doesn't go.
The engine light is on in my car. I took it to a repair shop and they said it had the codes of p2196 and p2198 a h02s heated oxygen sensor is malfuntioning. When the rep pulled up the codes he informed me they had thousands of my same vehicle with the same problem. I contacted Ford warranty and they said it was not covered. This is horrible for Ford to know this is a defect on their vehicle and not be responsible for fixing it. So I would like to launch this formal complaint. I will never buy another Ford vehicle again. The aip has gone out in my vehicle and I have had other issues that the Ford warranty has said did not apply. The vehicle was in motion when the light came on.
Had a recall on driver door issue with secure of door . But on my back driver door has the same problem . Door could become un safe when driving . Dont know if it is secure. While driving. Shows open. Something went wrong with abs system while drving didnt stop right away . Had to stop and wait before brake system became fuctionable .
