Power Steering Failed problems of the 2004 Ford Escape

The contact owns a 2004 Ford Escape. While driving various speeds, the power steering failed and the manual steering would activate without warning. The contact stated that the vehicle would have to be turned off and restarted in order to activate the power steering. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in a recall and no longer covered under warranty. The failure mileage was unknown.
