Whatever causes the back hatch to stay in the open position while loading or unloading stuff in the back of the 2008 Escape failed in my car. I was putting groceries in the back of my Escape when the hydraulic or whatever died and the whole [xxx] back hood fell to the closed position with me standing under it.
