While driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine overheated. The tpms warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 12v551000 (engine and engine cooling). The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact about a recall and referred the contact to the local dealer. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a claim and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
