1 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2020

The transmission shift link bushing wore out my vehicle has less than 15,000 miles Ford dealership in Ford motor company tell me that there is no fix for this there is no recall. When I search the national transportation site I am complaining on right now, I see no recall about it yet it's the same exact recall on other 2014 Ford Escapes the minute I put my VIN number and it says that I'm good to go and says 0 un repaired recalls but the same issue is happening why aren't they fixing it for free why is there no recall. I stopped put the vehicle in park, so it was stopped went in the store came out and shifter was stuck. Because of the issue it could have had extreme cost of towing to the dealer ( Ford). They alerted me no bushing replacement, no recall and only they replace the whole shifter cable 4. 5 hour job $61. 00 part! how many other seniors were treated this way over a $2. 00 part and ten to 15 minute install! I used to be proud to be an american! forgive me if I went long!.

2 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2019

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. When the contact shifted into drive, the gear became stuck in reverse. When the gear was placed back into park, it seized. The vehicle had to be turned off after unplugging the battery. The vehicle was purchased two months ago. The contact stated that the failure was directly related to NHTSA campaign number: 18v471000 (power train). The vehicle was taken to ntb where it was diagnosed that the shifter cable was disconnected due to bushing failure. The repair would cost $500. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at ntb until Ford determined the next steps. The manufacturer stated that they were not responsible and that NHTSA would be able to issue a recall on the vehicle. A case was filed with the manufacturer, but they declined to provide a case number. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 92,500.

3 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2018

I purchased my 2014 Ford Escape in April 2017. I also purchased the Ford protect 75000 mile extended warranty. From time to time I would notice a hard shift or slip. I was getting close to my warranties end and brang the vechile in to the dealership from which it I had purchased it from. They said they updated the pcu (which after researching is Fords recommended fix). Couple weeks past and its still doing the same thing. Warranties over not my problem is what im told. Both from the dealership and Ford. I have a recall from Ford do to shifter cable bushings being faultly. Were your car could roll away due to being in the wrong gear. But the kicker is they have not yet provided a part and you can get it fixed and be reimbursed or always use your parking brake. Which im sure is great for hot rotors and breakpads. And this is not the only problem I have. My vechile now has quite a few issues. Which include stalling when backing up shifter stuck in park (finally when it does release slams into reverse) randomly draining battery because car is in power saving mode not starting because if hill assist mode? backup cam intermittently not working touchscreen displaynot working or black. All these problems seem to be common among 2014 Escape owners when reading online forums for both owners and mechanics. Yet Ford states that even with the recalled issue. No consumer complaints or injuries have been filed. I will be document every occurrence from this day forward.
