Failure Date: 04/14/2026

When the inside of the car gets too hot, you cannot shift the car dial out of park. The engine runs but the car will not go into gear. It happens whenever the car gets too hot. There should be a recall to fix the issue. It is not safe to be stuck sitting in your car unable to move.

Drivers side door is popping/cracking. Upon reasearching I found numerous others complaing of the same problem.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2026

System failures with lights and warnings include: hill start assist, all wheel drive fault, precollision assist, advanctrac. Rear differential and awd module had to be replaced. Car has 57,000 miles on it and is a 2020. Safety is put at risk with a failing rear differential. There were minor vibrations that could've turned into wheel lock. All of the different drive modes were unavailable, and with heavy snow and ice in the area where I live, it made driving more difficult. The car was diagnosed and 2 dealers and one independent service center and the work was ultimately done at a dealer because the all wheel drive module has to be programmed.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2026

Cloth interior cover of sunroof has come loose. It drapes like a curtain when we try to open the sunroof, blocking the rear view. This appears to be a common, known issue across various years of Escapes, but Ford wants $3000 to fix a simple problem.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2026

The vehicle is subject to an open federal safety recall involving a fuel injector that may crack and leak fuel onto the top of the engine. According to NHTSA, liquid fuel or fuel vapor may accumulate near hot engine or exhaust components, creating a risk of an under-hood fire and injury. I purchased this vehicle after the recall had already been issued. The recall was not disclosed to me at the time of sale, and the vehicle was presented for service multiple times after purchase without any disclosure of the recall or safety warnings. When I contacted an authorized dealer to ask whether there were any open recalls, I was initially told there were none. After I specifically referenced the recall, I was told that parts were not available and that no repair had been completed. The safety risk is that the vehicle may leak fuel near hot components without warning, creating a fire hazard while driving or after the engine is shut off. I have not been provided interim safety guidance or a timeline for repair. Nhtsa records currently show the recall remains open, unrepaired, and without an available remedy.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2026

Multiple warning lights 4wd, advance track, power train, hill start coming up on in my 2020 Ford Escape titanium. Some go off for a few days and then come back on, some go on and off while driving. Also purge valve evap codes come up.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2025

Sunroof shade blocking rear visibility when open, when open it’s not rolling up into cavity.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/25/2025

Unknown December 25th, 2025, my vehicle started to shift poorly, breaking very harshly, giving a clonking sound when putting the vehicle into any gear, and when putting it into reverse, the car rocked roughly and threw a wrench light onto the dash. That wrench light gave a torque converter/transmission code. I took it to a dealership to get it diagnosed and they told me nothing was wrong with it and that it is driving as it should. I took it to a different shop for a second opinion and as soon as my vehicle was in the air, the mechanic found that all of my mounts were bad, I had a transmission leak and might possibly have a bad torque converter. My safety as well as my [xxx] daughters was put at risk from the dealership not doing a thorough diagnostic on my vehicle. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2025

While driving and idling, strong exhaust fumes enter the cabin, especially when the vehicle is in park or stopped at a traffic light. Air recirculation shuts off by itself and the airflow is very weak even on high settings. Remote start caused the cabin to fill with fumes before entering the vehicle, leading to headache and difficulty breathing within minutes. Symptoms are consistent with carbon monoxide exposure. Cabin and engine air filter is brand new. Just replaced 12/13/2025. Fumes are significantly worse at idle, suggesting an exhaust manifold crack or turbo exhaust leak. This is a serious safety hazard, and I am concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning and risk of losing consciousness while driving. It was so bad I had to have all windows open and the heat off in 30 or below temperature just to breathe. I have a very small child with heart problems and I'm concerned my vehicle is no longer safe to drive.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2025

As a firefighter, I find it concerning that this recall has been issued for so long and no resolution has been found. The amount of vehicle fires that I see with reports of it "just starting to smoke, and then was on fire when I pulled over!" can easily be explained by fuel leaking into the hot engine compartment and combusting. This is my wife's primary vehicle, so I do not see it as fair that we have to send her on her way while there is no resolution to a potentially catastrophic issue. These vehicles need to be pulled off the roads before someone dies!.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

Chrome around shifter knob is peeling up causing gashes in drivers fingers. A key function to adjust gears that is causing bodily harm. Chrome tips were addressed on window nobs due to sharp chrome peeling up. Vehicle was inspected by Ford dealership and I was informed it was not included in the recall.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

I am getting warnings on my dash every day, about tpms system failure. Sometimes it shows all four tire pressure, sometimes one or two of them will shut off with the warning alarm, sometimes it is all four of them will stop showing. It is intermittent module failure, the sensors in the tire are working. There is a current recall for some of my year/make/model 20s59, but corporate Ford is saying it does not apply to my vehicle. The exact same issue as this recall has happened to my vehicle.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

Unknown when I start my car for the 1st time that day & start to back up with my foot on the break, the back end of my vehicle makes a loud groaning sound.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2025

The front driver doors latch has snapped and no longer catches the door. The door clicked every time it opened and shut a few times before a loud pop/crack noise and now it won’t latch properly.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2025

The back passenger door is stuck closed and will not open even though the power locks and physical lock, inside and exterior door handles all function as they should. There is currently a customer satisfaction program regarding the front driver side door 23b56 however the local Ford dealership will not fix the issue because it is not the front door.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2025

1. Awd system: sensor in rear axel causing "awd system fault error". 2. Without the functionality of my awd system related to this malfunction I am left with a vehicle that can not perform in the conditions that may require awd, such as deep snow which could result in me crashing. 3. Yes. My car is currently at a Ford certified mechanic. 4. Unknown. 5. "awd system fault error, service engine soon" as we were driving down the highway toward our home. We took it to the mechanic as soon as they had an opening, which was a week from the error message appearing.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2025

In my Ford 2020 Escape hybrid titanium awd car, sunroof shade got misaligned and not closing anymore, resulting in more heat flowing into the car creating impacts inside. Also, as per others comments and online forums, there is a chance that this shade would fall on the passengers during the drive if not taken care quickly, resulting in injuries in adults and deaths in infants. Reached to a Ford dealership to fix this issue and its costing me close to $3000. As its a design flaw from Ford, I request Ford to do a fix for free of charge or recall and fix it for their customers and address their safety concerns immediately. Appreciate your looking into this matter.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2025

Moonroof/sunroof shade came off tracks upon normal use (opening) and is loose. The shade falling down impairs visibility of the road.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2025

Unknownon my dash my awd fault warning has showed up followed by hill assist not available and traction control not available. I have looked for in formation online about it and it seems that it’s a recurring issue with 2020 Ford Escape and many others. I’ve seen that there was a customer satisfaction effective on April 9,2021 through April 30, 2022 but I have just gotten this car last year and dealer states that I am responsible for fixing a manufacturing issue. I’m not sure where my car was manufactured but my car is affected. I have about 83,600 miles and don’t seem to understand why I have to pay since in the customer satisfaction program it states that the module needs to be replaced before sale and customers that have already purchased the vehicle should have it replaced no charge to them. I’ve only just gotten this car last year February 2024 and not sure if the owner before got the notice or not but I have not received a notice stating anything about the awd system malfunctioning. It is definitely a safety risk if I was to be driving in a snow or ice storm and my traction control stopped working; without the awd the car is harder to accelerate and control sometimes. I haven't gotten if fixed since they want me to pay for something that they failed to make sure was working correctly. I can't afford to fix it since money is already tight but it is my only way of transportation. I have some photos of the lights/warnings and I have a document of the customer satisfaction program from 2021.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2025

Since winter is starting soon I really need to get this fixed it’s a safety hazard and I’m not understanding why it is not a recall since it showed up suddenly and stopped my drive modes from working and traction that’s very important in the winter.

25 Equipment problem

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2025

The sunshade fell of the tracks due to a malfunction with the slide being hit by the guard piece that is attached by adhesive pads and is sagging. The sunshade fell on our head while trying to retract it when it broke. I did take the vehicle to the dealership and it is not covered by the dealership’s extended warranty. I was quoted for the repair. I have contacted Ford about this issue but have not been contacted back. The vehicle is only 5 years old and has 30k miles on it. No warning of this breaking, I just hit the button to open the shade and it broke.

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2025

I have a moon roof with a canopy covering it, when you open the moon roof the canopy retracts also, my canopy retracts but came apart from the tracks on each side which causes the canopy to drop down and block the rear view mirror, which is definitely a safety hazard. I contacted Ford and no recall or TSB is available . I'm not the only one with this problem, this could cause a serious accident not being able to see behind you blocking your view. Ford has a case # that I reported to them the problem # [xxx] reference this problem information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2025

My tire sensors keep going out. I've replace them twice already. It's a concern for my especially traveling at highway speed.

31 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2025

My Ford currently has 80k miles on it with no accidents and all recalls fixed by the dealer. This morning when I was driving my kids to school, a light I've never seen appeared on the bottom right hand side of the drivers screen. The light was a red triangle with an exclamation point inside of it. Not long after I noticed the light, we started to smell something burning and our car began loosing power. I pulled over immediately and turned the car off. I googled the meaning of the light. Apparently, it was a "stop safely now" light. The various reasons online could not pinpoint any reason I could come up with. I popped the hood, checked the oil, coolant, and I checked that the hybrid battery located in the trunk had a good connection. Everything was fine, as far as I could tell. When I restarted the car, after about 15 mins of investigations and online research, the light was gone and so was the smell. However, now I am super nervous to drive this car on the highway. What if that light comes on again and I loose power when all the cars around me are driving 70 mph? the chances of getting rear ended and seriously hurt are a very real possibility. What if my kids are in the car? I'm scared.

32 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2025

Out of nowhere, my vehicle had an awd module failure. This has led to several other subsystems being triggered and warning lights going off. It also disables awd. After consulting with a vendor, it appears that this is a problem that happens regularly with this vehicle around 55,000 miles. It is not a cheap fix, and results in a vehicle not being able to drive in awd. This is a safety concern in inclement weather, as the vehicle clearly has a shoddy component that is designed to fail early in a vehicle‘s life. It is also my understanding that Ford has now discontinued this vehicle, and I bet that this is one of the reasons for it. Please issue a recall immediately so that Ford has to pay for its own mistakes and not the customer.

33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2025

Orange wrench light came on. Hooked it to a computer and it stated p093a:00 . I know some Escapes had recalls in regards to this but the built date ended 7. 2020. According my my car it was built 09/20. I think the recall should be extended to more than just built date they listed.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2025

Sunshade on sun roof is sagging and now blocking visibility through rear window. This is a safety hazard and concerning.

35 Equipment problem
