Due to the two unrepaired recalls my family’s safety is at risk. The recalls could cause a fire or crash and with no remedy available my family is unsafe in this vehicle.
The vehicle's driver's door malfunctioned. It is available for inspection, but I paid to fix it earlier this week out of my pocket. It was confirmed by an auto body repair shop. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. There was no warning lamps' messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The first time it occurred was early last year. It was fixed under the warranty manufacturer twice. The last time it was a week ago, but it was outside the warranty when that occurred. So I paid to fix.
1) head unit not powering up. No backup camera no cross traffic alert. 2) power train light has come on three times. Dealership is unable to find any issues 3) starting battery keeps failing. Fourth battery in three years getting installed today.
Reoccurring simultaneous failures of safety systems "cross traffic system fault ", "blind spot system fault", complete climate panel failure (defroster, heater, ventilation, . . . ), accompanying failures of power windows, power seats and most recently the ability to open the rear hatch of the SUV. Warnings about intermitent "drive mode not available". All of the above can occur suddenly when driving or at starting. Windows fog suddenly.
I have a 2020 Ford Escape that was not included in the recall 20c19/20v575, however my vehicle has been having the issue. Ford dealerships and the Ford customer support were not helpful and said they couldn't fix the issue since my specific vehicle was not included in the recall, even though my vehicle is having the same issue. They directed me to file a complaint here in order to be added to the recall.
Repeatedly the dashboard flashes "cross traffic system fault", "blind spot system fault", "blind spot left/right sensor fault" occasionally "cannot access memory while driving". The lower center display panel on the instrument panel goes completely black. The problem occurs intermittently, but when it starts it is more or less continuous for long periods of time. Ford (demontrond Ford) has now worked on the problem at least six times.
My vehicle has been in the shop (northgate Ford) so many times and they said that there's nothing wrong. The service manager went out with us and saw it wasn't working properly. My car isn't safe to drive as the lane keeping system tried taking me off the road so many times. The dealership wants me to trade my car in and I said absolutely not. I don't want anyone killed because of the problems with this vehicle.
My Escape cross traffic alert system only works half the time and yesterday it didn't work at all. It's been at northgate Ford so many times for this problem but it's still not fixed.
On Sep 02, 2020 I was sold a-2020 Ford Escape by bolivar Ford ,bolivar, TN 38008. I was not told by the salesman that the car had a open safety recall and should not have been sold to me until the recall was fix. When I test drove the car I notice the camera would work some time and other time it would not. I have received a recall letter from Ford but they said that the parts were not available to fix the camera . It is very unsafe when backing up when the backup camera is not working.
