One problem related to brake pedal and linkage has been reported for the 1998 Ford Escort. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Accelerator can easily be mashed down due to brake pedal being small. Also, because brake pedal does not sit high over accelerator pedal it is causing some driving difficulties. Please add more information.
