Driving to town motor backfired and stalled, speed was about 5 mph. No power steering at the time. Lucky I was pulling up to a traffic light. Mechanic said #4 spark plug blew out of the engine block damaging coil pack and fuel injector. Just bought vehicle not to long ago and now have to spend a small fortune to repair a clear design flaw by Ford motor company. They are not going to recall until they are required to. So much for made in USA quality. Now I just hope the vehicle does not catch fire sitting in my driveway!.

2 Car Stall problem

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shake lunge and stall. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where the contact was informed that the fuel pump would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued to recur. The vehicle was returned to the mechanic several times and various sensors were replaced but, to no avail. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been further repaired. The failure and current mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the vehicle would sporadically stall. The dealer stated that the coil pack located near the air compressor, could develop moisture, which would cause the coil springs to fail and the vehicle to stall. Secondly, the technician stated that in rainy conditions, condensation under the hood could cause the coil springs to fail spontaneously. As a result, the risk of a crash is increased. Three coil springs need to be replaced at the cost of $500. The manufacturer did not assist. The failure and current mileages were 120,000.

5 Car Stall problem

While driving vehicle stalled. Vehicle ran very rough. Also, hesitated as if didn't have fuel in it. Then it lost power. This was an intermittent issue.

6 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2002

2000 Ford Expedition v8 4. 6l XLT stalls when gas is at 1/4 tank and at a forward angle (downhill). This happens when going 55 on the freeway, come to a slight decline and vehicle stalls and dies. Could cause an accident. I can not sell this car and get a new Ford, knowing some could get hurt. We don't let our kids drive it.

Vehicle stalls out and dies on an incline. Dealer has not been able to duplicate or correct the problem, and has put a box to record the stalling. Please provide additional information.

Vehicle started stalling at 24000 miles. Vehicle has stalled numerous times at any speed. Taken to dealer 9 times. Dealer replaced transmission and pcm module, did not remedy the problem. The fuel pump, fuel pump sensor and processor have been replaced, however the problem still exists.

When traveling on the highway, vehicle cuts off without prior warning, also lights on dashboard flashed on and off, dealership was aware of problem. The vehicle cuts off while driving due to crank sensor failure. While driving right rear wheel jingles. Vehicle cuts off while accelerating, after stopping the vehicle restart and idles up to 1100 rpm at times. Consumer states transmission slips, the dash was rattling and the pedal button on the left steering wheel was installed backwards.

10 Car Stall problem

While going up a hill when fuel is low or half full and without any indication vehicle would stall, and would not restart untile it is on level grounds. Please provide further information.
