The contact owns a 2000 Ford Expedition. While driving 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was restarted, but then stalled again. There was a loss of steering. The vehicle coasted to a service station. The mechanic stated that the spark plug blew out of the cylinder head. No repairs were made. The current and failure mileages were 101,000. Updated 12/12/07.
While driving on highway at approximately 70 mph the vehicle's gauges began flashing erratically and the engine stalled immediately. Dealer diagnosed that engine had failed and consumer had to replace.
When the vehicle has a 1/4 tank of gas or less "and" sitting on an incline fuel guage will not register fuel being in vehicle, and engine will stall. This occurs while parked or while vehicle is in operation. Please provide any additional information/attachments. *note: consumer stated that if a vehicle was traveling on a slope and this happened, vehicle could lose steering and braking control.
