1 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2014

I purchased this vehicle used on 04/15/2011. We normally drive approximately 35 mph around the island. In August of 2012, the brake master cylinder failed at 90,000miles and was replaced on 08/08/2012 by the service dept at mike shad Ford/autonation, orange park, FL. On 04/12/2013, the brake master cylinder failed and again had to be replaced, this time by paul clark Ford, yulee, FL. On 03/13/2014, while taking my daughter to school, the brakes failed. I was able to steer out of a collision. I took the vehicle to the nearest Ford dealership; paul clark Ford, yulee, FL. The master cylinder needs replaced a third time; however, the part is on back-order with no known repair date. I contacted Ford customer relations on 03/14/2014 who stated there were no TSB on this part. I highly recommend that this be investigated before fatality occurs. 3rd brake master cylinder failure within year and a half.

2 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2014

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the brakes were applied and traveled to the floorboard abnormally. The contact mentioned that the brakes failed to respond immediately without warning. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 81,600.
